I think the NRR was something like 22 on these but they block more sound than other ear plugs that I've used that were rated at 30 or more. I have a dog that makes all kinds of noises at night keeping me awake and if I wear both plugs I can't hear the alarm clock(s)

I was using Speedo silcone plugs and which were just ok and they did leak often and could sometimes scrape the inside of your ear. When I first tried these for swimming I didn't get a good seal but have learned that you open up your ear canal a bit, squish the plug in and *roll* your thumb/finger off the plug to leave it inside. If you don't *roll* off it can pull back out a bit and you lose the seal. Are they 100% perfect, no, but even when I lose the seal in the pool, far less water goes in compared to the Speedos plug. The box say something like they can be used five times but I've stretched that out to at least 15 times and when that pair has lost some of the stickiness, I use those for sleeping. I've only used 4 of the 15 in the box so far in a month so this product is totally worth it. Oh and for sleeping this is much better than the foam plugs because they don't irritate you ear canals and get rubbed by the pillow. They're warm and low profile. One last thing, don't make them pointy to fit inside your ear. Create a block shape and fill the space outside your ear canal.

Very interesting version of ear plugs but extremely effective and comfortable.

I was surprised, as an adult, to be told I needed tubes in my ears; I thought that was for kids! The thing I was most strongly cautioned about was to make sure I always have ear plugs in when showering. the doc told me the biggest issue adults have with tubes is getting water in the ears. I had some foam plugs but I discovered that they absorb water! Not right at all for the kind of protection I needed. I found these and tried then and have been very happy. They don't insert INTO the ear canal, just seal into the ear opening. The instructions say they are good for five uses and I'd agree. After five uses they didn't stay in place and seal well enough.Put them into place and gget a good seal then when you take them out put them back onto the plastic case. After five uses throw them out and start a new set.They do reduce a substantial amount of noise and, if pressed into place correctly and carefully, keep water out of the ear canal. Good product!

After figuring out how to use these, they worked to keep water out. Learning how to fit them in ear was a little tricky but after a few times I got the hang of it

I an a Marriott Platinum, Delta Platinum and Hilton Diamond, so I do travel a good bit. I was extremely fussy about hotel room placement because I would wake up at even the slightest amount of noise, until I started using these ear plugs. My husband used these earplugs for years and I finally gave them a try out of desperation. Since then, I am less fussy about room placement, which makes for more enjoyable travel all around. They are now a travel "must have". A few tips:- Keep them in the original packaging - they need to be sticky - if they aren't properly stored they will collect dust and dry out-Change frequently - I might change them more often than necessary, but I don't want to take the chance of being awakened by noisy neighbors-Keep your ears clean - might sound strange, but adherence is key to effective use and if you have lots of wax or dirt they won't stick as well-Follow the instructions for insertion - proper "installation" is keyI find usage life changes based on hotel pillow cases as well - some seem to have more lint and I gets picked up by the earplugs. Having said all this, I keep these in my checked and carry on luggage. I wouldn't travel without them. I can truly say that this product changed my life or at least how picky I was about hotel rooms. (I also use a sleep mask - unrelated to this product, but key in creating my total sleep package.)

My Dr told me to try the silicone ear plugs to help drown out the tv at night (husband watches late and was keeping me awake) so I ordered these and they actually help. I've tried regular ear plugs but they didn't help at all. I definitely recommend these if you're trying to drown out noises when trying to sleep!
