High quality leater but I suspect...
I suspect that this is not for tooling. Not as I have ever known the process to be. I use tooling leather but I don't tool mine. This one is everything else as described but since it is died and very pliable it doesn't qualify (won't work) for tooling. Tooling leather is undied and stiffer. You soak it in water and then it becomes a little like clay at the surface. The tools leave a sharp clear imprint. Let it dry and dye it then if desired and treat with leather cream or whatever you choose. This product is more like a latigo. Very nice.

Better than expected!
I was searching for a large pad to go under my desk and keyboard as my mouse wasn't tracking well directly on my wood desk. All I kept finding were the fabric "mousepad" type or PU Leather ones. Neither one seemed good to me. I saw this and immediately knew it's what I wanted - measured the space on my desk and it looked to be a perfect fit. I am constantly moving computer and photography equipment on my desk. So I didn't want to worry about tearing a gentle fabric and wanted something that looked better with age. The marks on the leather rub right out with a finger, but as I just moved a bunch of equipment this morning - you can see several marks on the leather. They'll be gone by the time you read this as they can gently be rubbed with the tip of a finger to nearly disappear. A patina is starting to develop, which is going to make this look even better going forward. Love this more than I thought I would!

Very nice leather
I bought this to make a small crossbody purse for my sister. When I finished it and showed my beautiful bride, she put it on and looked at it in the mirror and walked off with it sayin “it’s perfect, now go make one for your sister”. Soooooo…I ordered some more leather and made one for my sister. The color and finish of this leather is very nice. It is great leather for small projects. I was even able to get by with a 12x24 piece for all of the pieces including the strap. I just cut two pieces and joined them together with a nice decorative stitchin so it looked like it was supposed to be that way. I had enough left over to make her a minimalist wallet and key ring that matched the purse.

I cut this for cabinet handles
This leather is medium thick and worked perfectly for handles for my kitchen cabinets with enough left over to cut and repair any that might need it in the future. The handles have been on my cabinets for 2 months now and still look like they did the day we installed them even with daily use.

This is hard leather not suede at all
The color and the fact that it is not leather. It has no option to return. It says dark brown but it more a medium brown.
