Just buyit.. But please read review
I live Shimoda designs... This is my second bag, and now I have a 40L and a 30 L. This large mirrorless is what's recommended for the Action X 30L series, but I'd recommend sticking to the medium instead. While I do love the carry capacity, it eliminates about 80% of the upper compartment if I don't unfurl the top. Basically I have to tuck the upper section to a side because the large cube takes up most of its space. That said I can carry 2 Canon R6, 24-105, Sigma 150-600 C and some adapters and teleconverters.with room for dust bulb and batteries. You just have to get creative on its layout. Bottom line, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten the large cube for the 40L bag, and the medium for the 30L. In the 40L I have the DSLR medium and small cubes.

Extra lens capacity is worth it for some
Fits easily in the shimoda 35L size backpack. The 200-600 lens fits inside however the 400-800 is just slightly too long.

Great fit if you need the space.
Well built. Fits perfectly in the Shimoda 30L packs. The extra height lets us hold our Sigma 500, mounted, with the hood in the ready position. It leaves room for other lenses of course. The light color is helpful in finding the smaller items. Combined with the padding built into the pack, we expect this will protect the lenses well.

Fits perfectly in shimoda bag and securely stores for travel
Easy to use, incredibly well made, dust cover provided. The inserts are easy to adjust based on what you are packing for a given outing. You could also use this in a carry-on size bag if you needed to.

Perfect for OM-1 with 300 Lens, binoculars, and microphones
I bought this because the medium core unit that came with my backpack just wasn't big enough. This thing is great! Fits my OM-1 with 300 lens, a pair of binoculars, two microphones, a mini tripod, and a small first aid kit. Everything I need. It's nice that this unit allows me to store my camera with the big lens attached instead of having to remove the lens while out in the field. The shipping was on time and the unit was in perfect condition, so the seller was great too.

Nice addition to the standard insert
This is a great insert for the Shimoda Explore 30. Basically it adds an additional “row” above the zipper door compared to the standard insert. I prefer the smaller insert as it’s usually sufficient for my M43 gear, but when traveling internationally with more gear or longer lenses, I move up to this one. It’s a tad finicky getting it in the Explore 30, but the main announce is the amount of upper compartment space it eats up. But there has to be a trade off somewhere.

It fits the Explorer 30L exactly. You have to push it in completely. It fits perfectly without any extra room to spare. After that I removed the top pocket so my bag only has the core insert and nothing else. I found out that it can be removed from Youtube. If you do not remove the top pocket, it will rest on the core insert and flop around. I am so glad that I bought the L version. I can put in my Canon R6, Sigma 105 f1.4 (it is a monster), batteries and the 3 more RF prime lens. It is amazing! I also put in the waterproof cover for the insert. That required some effort. I left one side uncovered so that I can open the insert to get my equipment. I want the cover to cover the base of my insert. It is well padded and I rearranged the padding according to my lens. The weight was very well distributed and it was comfortable to carry. I made it a point to put all my heavy lens right at the top of the insert as I do not want the weight to hit my back when I walk. The weight was bearing on my shoulders but with the broad carry straps it was so much more manageable. Indeed it was one of the best camera bag that I have carried but it is far too expensive. Even for the core insert, it cost so much. Nevertheless it was very well made and I believe it will last many years thereby helping me to recoup my investment.

Item was a bit slow to arrive I guess due to import from another country. However, it is exactly as described and well built. I recommend this product and the seller.

This is a big upgrade for my explore 35 (v2). 200-600G attached to my a6700. 70-350G, 16-55G, 11mm, dji mics and peak strap. You lose space at top of bag but it is absolutely worth it. See in the photos, I can still put my jacket on top of lenses as well as laptop and it is very comfortable on my back.
