Barge Cement
We did much research before ordering this product. The normal "GO TOO's" didn't give us much faith in their product. Did 3 shoes with this cement and went on vacation. Used all 3 pairs normally, hiking, walking and "bang" around. THIS CEMENT WORKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! We have more shoes to glue and the glue will probably work on our other projects. I know it took a while to leave this review but wanted to test the results thoroughly. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. You may have some extra glue showing after sealing but it really doesn't matter with the shoe staying together......

Stickier Than Your Worst Ex! 😏😂
If you’re looking for something that clings harder than a bad decision at 2 AM, Barge All-Purpose Cement is THE ONE. Once this stuff sticks, it’s not letting go—kinda like that one-night stand who “accidentally” left their toothbrush at your place.I used it for a leather project, and let’s just say, I had a moment of panic when my fingers almost became a permanent part of it. This stuff grips tighter than a first date who won’t take the hint, so apply with caution—unless you enjoy an unexpected long-term commitment. If you want an adhesive that bonds stronger than a toxic relationship, this is it. Just be warned: once you stick it, there’s no ghosting your way out of this one.

It's better?
Isam not exactly sure why but this contact cement, an least on the leather car seats I am using it on, is noticeably better than the market leading product. It does not appear tho be any different, they both smell of Tolulene, are the same color and consistency, but there is something different and at for my application it works better.

Good standard
It really is the best for all leather working projects. I’ve used it for bags, rebinding books, belts, etc. The smell isn’t great, but this is still the gold standard for this type of product.

Stinks and messy but works
This stuff stinks so if you use indoors make sure you open a window. Very messy but what do you expect with glue

leather workers, this glue is for you
Whether you are an old school leather worker or just getting started, this glue should be on your bench. Barge Cement is not for the faint of heart. They call it cement for a reason. Some leather projects require a glue to only hold pieces together until they are laced up. This allows you to make adjustments if needed prior to stitching. Barge Cement is for when you absolutely do not want things to move. This is a typical "contact cement", meaning once you make contact with the two pieces, good luck getting them apart. Since this product requires it to be "dry to the touch" before gluing the pieces together, you actually have some good working time. Brush the cement on both pieces, let "dry" then glue away. It is a "solvent based product so please work in a well-ventilated area (it is stinky), with NO open flames nearby. If you drip any of the cement on somewhere it shouldn't be (non-porous surfaces only), let it dry and it will rub off fairly easily. If on a porous surface, you may need the Barge Solvent Reducer for assistance. Here is a user tip that will make your Barge experience much nicer. On the first time you open the can, apply Vaseline around the threaded portion of the can and to the inside threads on the lid, this will keep the two surfaces from gluing together and making it nearly impossible to unscrew the lid. If you drip the cement over the rim of the can, make sure to clean it off and re-apply some Vaseline. Have fun and happy tooling.
