Cane Creek Crudbuster Boot for Thudbuster

The Crud Buster does it's job and fits snug, oddly the text appears upside down but the boot is designed to only fit one way, their is a small hole on the bottom to fit the stem and velcro to fit the flat portion the seat mounts to, so i don't think their is any way to screw that up.The shipment was quick, accurately priced, and properly packaged.

It can be a tight fit when you use a chain or a large gauge cable to lock your seatpost with but other than that I recommend this product as well as the lizard skins fork boot for your forks as well. These lizard skins really help to keep your suspension from weathering, dirt, and scratches. Makes for a longer life suspension.

I got this to protect my new Thudbuster mechanism from dust/mud/water/debris/etc:  Cane Creek 3G Thudbuster Long Travel Seatpost, 27.2 It is a tight fit and you need to put it on before you put the post into the bike frame, but with a bit of tugging, it fit on nicely and it should prolong the life of my Thudbuster by many years. A good investment.

Just a cheap sleeve prone to tearing, would be a fair product if it was $2 or so.

It fits well. Like some people have said, it’s surprising that it’s not included with the thudbuster. I got it to keep the thudbuster clean from sand, dirt, grit, etc. looks good on.

Picture and reviews/questions ALL pointed to this cover fitting the long-travel 3g or the long-travel 4g. I was sent the short travel cover. Oh, well. I'll try again.

Fits like the proverbial glove. I think it looks kind of cool, too. And clearly, it's going to keep the mechanism cleaner.If you don't want to spend the money, wrap an Ace elastic bandage around the mechanism for a flexible protective barrier. Won't have a lizard on it, though.

I believe it will serve the purpose well, and it is not unattractive at all. I will say however that the installation is not intutive as the name is actually upside down after installation, and the little hole at one side is not a drain hole as some have said in reviews, but rather the hole for the seat post. The hole is very small and it takes a good effort to go over my 27.2 seat post. I imagine if my post was larger, it would be more of a challenge. At first, we thought the velcro somehow went over the rails for the seat itself, but that is not the case, the velcro goes at the upper rear of the Thudbuster.The one that was deliverd to me was for an ST Thudbuster, not an LT. At the time of purchase, I only owned an LT model, so this would not fit. There was no clear description of the product on Amazon, but BikeWorld says they will correct this. Shortly after purchasing this boot, I purchased an ST Thudbuster for my wife, and installed this boot on her bike. It fit perfectly, other than the issues described above. and I think we will be pleased with this. Others have suggested wrapping a Black Ace Bandage instead of this boot, but honestly, after installation, I think the boot is really is the way to go, and I will only use the Ace Bandage on my bike if I am not able to find an LT model of this boot. So far, finding a boot for an LT has been a challenge..So basically, 5 stars for quality (It does seem well made), take away one star because the writing is upside down, and take away one more star because there were no instructions on installation, which might not have been needed if the printing was oriented correctly.I am currently neutral on the seller. The product was deliverd with no damage in a timely manner, and the seller says they will correct the description. If they follow through, then you will see which Thudbuster this is for on their product description, and that will speak well of them.

Fit perfectly around my suntour xtc suspension post.

Ich war am Anfang bisschen überrascht, das der Überzug so klein ist. Dachte erst er wäre für die ST, es sah so aus als ob er nicht passen würde, aber das Material ist flexibel. Mit ein bisschen Dehnung lies es sich ohne Probleme über die Sattelstange und die Mechanik ziehen. Jetzt ist alles gut geschützt vor Wind und Wetter.

Auch ich dachte zunächst, dass das für das Sattelrohr vorgesehene Loch viel zu klein ist. Der Überzug passt aber perfekt!! Er geht stramm über das Rohr und dichtet wirklich staubdicht ab. P.S. Wer die Gelenke zusätzlich vor Schmutz schützen will wickelt, nach dem die Gelenke der "Traverse" gefettet wurden, Frischhaltefolie drum herum und zieht dann den Überzug darüber!!!
