Beautiful & well made
Grinding surfaces: a bit abrasive, with even small ridges in the base & an even surface in the top.Surface & base: even & smooth.The 2 parts fit well, leave just enough room & don't bind up: but because of this, it's for small or fine grinding & you won't be able to fit a lot of stuff in the base, if you want to really grind it up.

This mortar & pestle is made of beautiful marble and the design is the best. The pestle has a wide base that fits perfect ally in the base; and can really fine grind fry and freeze-dried garlic and other herbs.I love it! It looks like a beautiful sculpture in my kitchen. I recommend this style and the price is great for this type of craftsmanship.
