Usually I've stuck with batteries for my Zoom audio recorder. Got this AC adapter for longer filming sessions. Took it to a session this week, in fact, "just in case." And what do you know? I sure needed it. The fact is, one set of batteries just doesn't last very long in the recorder. Didn't want to keep replacing them during the filming, so I plugged in this adapter and it got me through the day just fine. Connects (and disconnects) easily from your Zoom recorder. It's lightweight and reliable, and a wise addition to your kit.

I got this because it's made for the Zoom device - you can get cheaper ones.. but I don't want to save $10 to fry a $250 recording unit. Using it is great - I didn't realize that you could get a power adapter for the H4n. I use it next to a keyboard, and don't need the portability. Saves swapping and recharging batteries - so it'll pay for itself in convenience in about a week. No problems - happy recording.

The price seems fair, the quality is good, it works well and is nice to have -- saves those batteries. Output is 5 VDC, 1 Amp. The cord is about 6 ft and light. It's just as shown here (2-blade plug). Works with both the Zoom Q3 and Q3HD. I'd give 5 stars if it were a little cheaper.

I'm ordinarily a cheapskate. In this case I "spluged" and bought the OEM power supply rather than a copy. Why? Sound. Power supplies are often a source of electrical noise. Recording sound seems like a critical application, so I thought the couple of extra dollars might be worth it in improving sound quality. Am I right? I don't know. This is the only power supply for the H4n that I have. I have also used it with batteries and an external USB power bank. I can't detect any difference in sound. so I'm happy.

Not much to say other than it works as intended. No complaints.

This item should come stand WITH the Zoom recorder. So, that ticks me off, as it does everyone else. However, if we are to look at this device for what it is, it definitely IS a five-star item, because it is small, lightweight, and has a nice design so that the transformer is near the wall jack, allowing you to move your Zoom around easily without this getting in the way. It comes packaged in a lightweight cardboard box that isn't going to last more than a few openings before it falls apart, but most people are going to pack this in with their Zoom recorder, either in a Pelican box, or something similar. It's also probably a tad too expensive, but you absolutely need this item, particularly if you are going use XLR-connected mics with 48V phantom power off your Zoom. (That will just suck a pair of AA batteries down in 15 minutes.) So, in spite of the fact that it really should have been supplied with the Zoom, and in spite of the fact that it is a little too expensive, I'll have to give this five stars for functionality and design.

I use this with my Zoom h4n pro. It works well and saves batteries. A longer cord would have been nice.
