expensive but efficient use
I didn't use the printer for a few years as the ink was running low and I didn't want to spend the money. But then I printed with the several year-old ink and it performed flawlessly. I've been working in the new cartridges as the old get used up. Never have problems with clogged heads, never have to waste ink to clean the heads, pictures turn out beautifully with mix of new and old inks.

Good product; B-U-T waaay too expensive!
There's no good reason as to WHY this ink should cost so much. Sure, the containers are larger... but NOT worth $500. It appears to be a case of price gouging because there is currently no viable competition. Think about the price of ink before you purchase the very capable Epson SureColor P800 printer for home use.

Great color.
I bought my P800 from the Estate of a friend. In my experience, OEM (I.e. Epson brand) ink is the only way to get consistent color in your prints. If you started with 3rd party inks, you will save money, but there is a good chance that you will not get the first class results you get from the Epson inks. Yes, Epson ink is expensive, but your use of the ink varies between images. Epson will sell the ink cartridges to you directly for less than other vendors. If Black and White is what you like to print, you might have to change your Matte Black or Gloss Black cartridges periodically, without having to change any of the others. The Epson replacement cartridges hold 80 ml each, double the amount typically found in the printer cartridge used in comparable printers. Finally, factor in the value of your time and the need for consistent, high-quality prints from one printing session to the next, in determining whether your time and money, and need for consistent print colors, are important to you. These printers were expensive, bit are no longer being made or sold by Epson. You can print from long rolls of photo paper with a P800 roll paper adapter printed out and sold by an English guy - mine cost about $125 delivered to the USA; be aware that Epson no longer sells these, so you can either buy one on eBay, from the guy in England or make your own, and save money.P.S. Weigh the new cartridges in grams on an electronic kitchen scale, available from Amazon, and later weigh the empty ones, and use those weights to calculate how much ink of each color you have used. 1 ml of water weighs 1 gram, but ink is heavier than water, hence the need for weighing the full and empty cartridges to determine the weight of each ml.

Beware: pricing
Buying this set is about 30% more expensive than buying each of the individual cartridges separately.
