TWS for audiophiles!
I have been looking and waiting for someone to develop a TWS for my good multi driver IEMs and KZ has delivered with the KZ-AZ09 Pro. It is also called the KZ-TWS HD Bluetooth upgrade ear-hook. It uses Bluetooth 5.2 with support for Apt-x formats as well as low latency. The two pin connectors work of course with most KZ IEMs but also with TRN such as my TRN ST5’s. My favorite pairing so far though are with the KZ ZAX 16 driver IEMs (pictured). I stream mainly through Amazon Music HD. These support up to 24 bit/48khz. The ZAX sound as good as any wired solution I have at the moment which is not saying a lot since I do not own anything that can play much higher than that wired.Performance wise, they drive the ZAX with ease and with good dynamics and details. People complain that the ZAX low end is not very good but I seriously beg to differ. With the proper sized tip and good seal the low end is deep, punchy and fast. No bloat in my opinion. The wireless connection has been very stable and has great range. Battery life is really all day with these. I did 8hrs with them straight and still had yet to get the low battery warning. The case charges them with a built in battery to charge them about 4 to 5 times before it needs a recharge. The case has a current usb-c connection for charging but does not support wireless charging. For the price of around $49 you get a great bang for your buck! Highly recommend!

Actual Improvements Over the Regular AZ09s
KZ has made progress with these adapters.Compared to the regular AZ09s, the AZ09Pros:-Don't deafen you with the voice prompts-Actually have a way to put the adapters into pairing mode. Power them on and keep holding the power button. However, problems with the originals still persist:-The pogo charging pins are unreliable. You need to watch your connected device and jiggle the charging case until the adapters disconnect, at which point you can be reasonably sure that they're actually charging.-The adapters will not switch devices when requested by those devices. You have to either power them off and turn them back on to put them into pairing mode or disconnect them from the device itself to orphan them and put them into pairing mode. Finally, the new style of ear hook is not an improvement for my ears. The stiffer design of the originals fit my ear shape well and stayed put. The new ones are so flexible that if I tilt my head or move excessively, they'll slip right off. This makes them unsuitable for some exercise or wearing while in bed.The battery life is as good or better than the AZ09s: quite good.As an aside for anyone looking to use these with a set of IEMs with recessed B-Pin/QC connectors, these adapters can be modified to fit by trimming away the housing around the pins. I did this to fit my Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lites and they work well.

Get this over the regular AZ09
The noise floor is hardly noticeable and I haven't experienced any connection issues in the past month compared to the original AZ09. It uses regular aptX not aptX adaptive but the sound quality is still solid. It's not listed in the manual but triple-clicking the left button enables a hidden high-gain mode that simply makes it louder. They also have a quirk where sometimes they will stay on and connected to my phone inside the case but just making sure they are seated properly on the charging pins has prevented that from happening again. Battery life is amazing compared to regular TWS earbuds. I use these continuously for 5-6 hours and my phone still shows 50% battery remaining. Unsure if that is correct but that's already more than the 4 hours I get with OnePlus Buds Pros with ANC on. I paired these with my Moondrop Arias but they will need modification since these are C-pin and the B-pin version is nowhere to be seen. The black part is silicone and the inner part is plastic so it is very easy to trim with a knife and file.

2 pin wire inside earhook snapped off after about 4 months
Outside of the really annoying bright lights on the side that blink constantly, and the signal randomly cutting out over and over until I turn them off and on again, I was loving these. Was.Unfortunately, whenever I want to disconnect my IEMs from them to use a wired cable, the earhook seems to just hold on for dear life to my IEMs for some reason and I have to use more force to get them off. I've never experienced this with any of the 2 pin cables I own. This has led to them ripping open the plastic on the connectors on my KZ ESXs to where I couldn't plug them into anything anymore, forcing me to replace them. Then, more recently, when I took out my IEMs again, the 2 pin connector inside one the earhooks itself was ripped from the wire inside and fell out. I'm not sure if I just got a bad set or what but I'm never rough with my devices, and I've had otherwise good experiences with KZ products when it comes to reliability.Supposedly KZ offers a 12 month warranty for them but how am I supposed to contact them? There's no phone number to the customer support anywhere in or on the packaging and the only number I could find via google is of course an international number. I guess I just would have to replace them, but with these falling apart on me so soon after spending about 50 bucks on them? I don't think so.

6 month before failure
Excellent adapters used with my higher end kz IEMs mainly for T.V. Used for almost 6 months until the Left side suddenly would drain in 15 minutes when connected to my LG OLED Tv and maybe a little longer life with my Pixel 6. Now left side is completely dead.Reached out via Amazon way past return period but feel I should have gotten a little more life out of them. Disappointed, because they are excellent when working. Manufacturer responded almost immediatelyand a new kz az09 was sent. They work perfectly . I am revising to 5 stars.
