However, it’s very heavy and very jaggy. I bought it for my granddaughter for Book Day thinking it would be a wonderful sceptre for her costume, but I’ve sent it back as I think for a young one it’s potentially dangerous. I think that it would be ideal for late teens or adults, who would know how to control it safely. If you are looking for a great quality sceptre though, taking on board those warnings, I don’t think you could do better.

This arrives in a black plastic bag with the rod in a clear plastic bag inside it & the scepter head in a neat white box cushioned with paper strips.The rod is approx 40.5cm long with a diameter of around 1cm & screws into the head so they are joined securely.The head is heavier than the rod & around 10cm tall when added to the rod.It looks really good & is covered in gems, with a large (approx 15mm diameter) fake pearl in the centre.It feels like something you might let the person who wins a beauty pageant hold, or use on a carnival float/for cosplay rather than something you'd let a child near.If someone swung it at you, it would really, really hurt so I wouldn't trust a child with it at all.It's excellent as a prop, but awkward to store.I put the head in the box & the rod part on the side.The rod promptly rolled off, fell the couple of feet to the wooden floor & has a mark on it now like a little dent, so I don't know if the golden finish will come off if it gets bashed about in transit.There is a tiny loop in the bobble at the base of the rod which you might be able to thread something through to attach it to a waistband or similar (you would get tired arms holding onto this for long), but it would need to be less than 2mm thick - a fine strong chain might work if you have some.This is one of the best scepters I've seen, but I wouldn't give it to a child.

Only head arrived no wand

This is a very sturdy wand, packed very sensibly and screws together firmly. Just nice length and lovely quality. Maybe more for an adult than a child as it is quite heavy. Would highly recommend.

Bought this originally as a Christmas play prop for my daughter who was a ice fairy in her school play, but has now taken to playing with it everyday wanting to be a princess its well made and not cheap plastic the base screws into the top so it's secure and won't fall off ,would of been nicer If it was a bit cheaper but I guess you pay for what you get and I didn't want something that was made of cheap plastic.

Quite heavy so didn't feel cheap, looks very pretty.
