Did not work
I plugged this into my iPad and got no signal on my TV. It was returned. Research online suggested to not cut corners with these adapters and buy Apples version as others often don’t work. Lesson learned.

Lightning plug doesn't work
Item is not plug and play. Must first download an app to download updates for the device. The app doesn't work like the instructions state. Instructions are confusing and hard to understand because it is Chinese translated to English by someone who doesn't understand English very well. Lightning port has either a short in it or is loose. Must get power cable just right for device to work. If you get the plug just right it works great. Will probably return and buy the actual Apple adapter. Don't waste your money on this.

Caveat Emptor!! This item is very misleading. It is a demonstration of how important it is to read the WHOLE description. Down in the part where it talks about what it does it notes that it does NOT work for Netflix, Prime Video, etc., etc., which is what most of us are buying it for, is it not? I bought it before reading the reviews... what, you too?! Just goes to show how important it is. I feel like this was a kind of weaselly product placement relying on 1) people not carefully reading the item description, and 2) people not returning the item because it is such a hassle for a relatively inexpensive item. Sleazy in my estimation.

Janky
Not sure why, but I got a bad feeling using this product. Like I was opening the door and inviting cyberattackers right on in. The download for the device version was not available. And they definitely lose points for not being able to work with things like Netflix. I also don’t like that you have to plug into a power source to use. Overall, not a good buy and I have requested a refund.
