2 stars for cooling, 3 stars for comfort: compared to Tempur, Purple, Leesa and many generics
I am thrilled with the opportunity to review this pillow that I have read so much about, and to help people make more informed decisions on their pillow purchase. For some context, let's address the 'elephant in the room'--- price. I will absolutely recommend that anyone pay in excess of $150, if they find 'the right pillow'. There are few items in life that you will use so much as a trusty pillow. For further context, due to my sleeping problems (overheating and snoring) I have bought Tempur-Pedic double-sided cooling pillows which retails for $179, nearly all of the Purple pillow variants ($99-159), the Sealy Black Ice pillow ($119), Leesa pillows ($99) and so many generic 'cooling' pillows, that I have forgotten most of them. So, my review of the Caspar is based on two things, cooling and comfort. This is a low profile (shorter than my Puple Harmony pictured) pillow that is surprisingly heavy. It is a black of solid foam, much like the Sealy Black Ice (which I needed to drive a tractor over to soften), yet this heavy pillow somehow allows the head to sink in a little better. It is not high enough for an adult male with wide shoulders who sleeps on his side, but it is quite good for back sleeping. (Flipping such a heavy pillow isn't that easy and might disturb a partner). I have pictured this pillow beside my Harmony and you can see the Harmony 6.5" is noticeably taller and thus better for side sleeping. For comfort, I would say this is OK, but not on the same level as the Tempur-Pedic double-sided cooling pillow, the Purple or the Leesa's of the world. It is fine though. Comfort would be scored a 3/5 for me.Cooling on the other hand is what kills this pillow for me. It is marketed as snow foam, and because of this (and the price), I expect a similar level of cooling to my priciest pillows. But inside the cover, it did not provide any cooling that I noticed (room temperature set to 70F). I actually had to remove the cover to feel the gel cooling. Cooling is better with the cover removed, but the inner sleeve is not washable. and sweat and oils from the head will likely soon cause it to deteriorate. And the cooling was just so-so even with the cover off. After you lay on it for awhile, it will need to be flipped, and it (even the low profile version) is quite heavy to flip. The Tempur-pedic double-sided cooling pillow, for comparison, is light years ahead in cooling technology. It would put a chill against my neck all night long if I flipped it a couple times to even out the warmth/body heat. Unfortunately the Tempur Pedic had such a stack height (way too tall) and was so dense to accommodate the mass of cooling gels, that it actually contributed to my stenosis (pinched nerve). Ouch! So, I ended up getting the Purple Harmony, which offers the second best cooling and is a little taller (6.5"), but is light and airy (not heavy and dense) and "springs" the head back when you lay down on it. So, for cooling, I would score the pillow as 3/5 with the cover off. But, I will deduct a star because it is clearly marketed and priced for cooling-- which is clearly is not too great with.Overall, this pillow was an easy review, and an easy 2 out of 5 stars as a cooling pillow and 3 out of 5 for comfort.I hope this review helps, because pillows can matter (almost as much as mattresses!)

Not my favorite…
I’ve slept on this pillow for a couple of weeks now. I would probably return it if I hadn’t kept is so long. I like that it isn’t so soft that my head sinks to the mattress, but I’m STILL waiting for the rubbery smell to go away. That’s very off-putting. The cooling gel is not very cooling which was a big disappointment. It’s a VERY expensive pillow for the quality.

Does what it claims, supportive and eliminates heat.
Its a bit pricey however when it comes to sleep quality im glad to pay for name brand. No tossing or turning to escape to the cold side of the pillow. Feels firm which was concerning at first however once you settle in its very comfortable. Seems to be just how foam pillows are made. Happy with the purchase.

Very thin
Wow did that hurt to sleep on. I am a side sleeper and there was no way to use it comfortably.

Good support
I am a side sleeper and this offers good neck support. Couldn't feel the cooling aspect until I took off the provided protection cover and used just a cotton pillow case. Still think it is a bit pricey but I like it
