Reasons We Believe: 50 Lines of Evidence That Confirm the Christian Faith

I have read and used a LOT of Christian apologetic books over the years. I teach the subject at a Christian high school and have chosen this book as our class textbook and I recommend it often. It is a great starting place for anyone interested in the subject. The approach and layout is really good. It starts general (reasons we believe in God) and "zooms in" to the specific beliefs of Christianity (reasons we believe in Jesus and His resurrection). I especially like the plethora of quotations and references that give readers more places to go if they want more information on any specific topic. While "advanced" students of apologetics might want more this book is highly recommended for anyone wanting a general overview of solid reasons to believe the Bible's message.

I have been a pastor for a long time, and have read countless apologetic works. This book is extremely useful not only because of the information (which is first rate), but also because of the way it is laid out. Very accessible and useful for anyone who wants to know why Christians believe in Jesus as the Messiah.

It's always difficult finding sound books these days to give out to non believers. I trusted the source due to his affiliations with John MacArthur who I know as a very sound Pastor. On further research this author is actually an assistant Pastor to John, so this book comes from a very trustworthy source.I paid for the online kindle version to get a gist of what the book was like before buying the actual book to send to non believers I know. I read it over the course of 2 days and could not put it down.This is the best book I've found defending the Christian faith. What I love is the constant use of scriptures, so the reader can look these things up as they go, encouraging a person to check all things. It was a great blend of facts, scriptures, even some historical evidence.I highly recommend this book to everyone... atheists, non Christians, new believers (as it will strengthen their faith) as well as Christians seeking to refresh their minds on key scriptures to share with others in defense of the Christian faith.I plan on looking at more of Nathan's books, as he's a great author and Christian apologist.Many thanks & hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!

this book is formatted in such a way even a young child could understand it ,not to mention the forward by John Macarthur . It is well worth adding to your reading . The Bible is full of golden nuggets of knowledge ,but more important is the blessing one gets from the reading and study of it , we give thanks for such men as Nathan Busenitz for sharing what God is doing through Him ,this book is evidence of when God works in one dedicated to the Christian life and wanting to share with others what He has learned .

Nathan Busenitz is an assistant to John MacArthur and shares MacArthur's enthusiasm for promoting Christianity. This book is divided into sections, dealing with evidence for the Christian God, the Bible and Jesus. It ties together modern scientific ideas and theology, although it does so from the perspective of supporting the rationale for Christianity, not by engaging contrary arguments and refuting them. Because of this, the book would be much more interesting (and a valuable resource) for a believer in need of reinforcement rather than a skeptic. For someone looking for a more balanced assessment, I would recommend The Reason for God by Timothy Keller or anything by John Polkinghorne. But this is a well-written and Biblical defence of Christianity.

This most recent addition to my library has found a place of honor as well as becoming required reading for the Spiritual Growth Group that I have been leading. This small book is absolutely LOADED with profound statements, pithy quotes, immense wisdom and confirmations of TRUTH that every student of God's Word needs to know to become a more informed, insightful witness. Many books are greatly overlooked because they are simplistic. Not so here. This is a condensed book of significant and vital insights collected from historical figures of reknown. A must read. Buy it and READ it with a consuming PASSION for TRUTH. You will become filled with a deeper understanding of how we cannot honestly live without the loving God of Creation and our Salvation.

This book is simultaneously apologetic and evangelistic. This book can be read in a non-linear fashion because of the way it was written. In other words, you don't have to read it from beginning to end since it has five different sections. This book makes a great reference tool for apologetics and evangelism. I recommend it for all Christians, anyone interested in the Christian faith, or even anyone who despises the Christian faith.

This book makes for a great addition to any library. Contains many solid arguments for everyday apologetic questions and Nathan has this way of speaking through many other great minds in a fluid and coherent way as he quotes them to build his case. Cheers mate
