I've had two of these for a few months. This is one of those random gifts that ends up being a huge success with the kids. Such a big success that I bought another one and will probably get a few more in the future for birthdays and holidays for other kids in the extended family. The toy itself is pretty cool even for an adult. I mean, it flies autonomously, right? Anyway, it's very easy to use so kids are spending time playing not being frustrated trying to figure out how to make it work. The battery life is kind of amazing too. My kids fly these things for 20-30 minutes at a time, and recharge time is only about ten minutes tops. Finally, they're pretty durable. My five year-old son doesn't exactly use it as intended. He likes to pitch it like a baseball then chase it. Suffice it to say it has stood up to some abuse!

I saw these on line somewhere and looked for one on amazon. I didn't expect much but was fascinated with the videos of them. I've only had it a few days and I'm still learning, but I have managed to get the thing to return to me a few times so far. Have to get the angle just right. When I master that I can play catch with myself I guess. The lights look cool and the ball is soft so it doesn't damage things; it might if you threw it very hard but I don't. When it lands on the floor it pauses itself until you shake it again. So far the battery charge lasts well. I think kids and teens would love this, at least until the new wore off, and it's rather fascinating for adults. It more than met my expectations.

Good price for this product. Works as advertised. The battery doesn't last a very long time but it can be recharged easily. Seems to be made well and holds up to wear and tear. Fun for all ages!

For a product (ball) that is supposed to be thrown and hit the ground not on accident, the durability simply sucks. First day using it indoors, it has a learning curve to actually make it fly back and for obvious reasons, every failed attempt will end on the floor.Well.. about the 7th time it fell on the floor, the outer net had one line broken and about the 9th or 10th, one of the blades broke, I still don't know how since it was inside of the outer plastic net and has an outer plastic ring that connects it to the other blades which, also broke and the led strip inside got loose.Now it turns on but the broken blade and ring touch the inside of the outer net making a lot of noise as it hits something else while spinning and it shuts off by itself after a couple seconds.Before that, battery life was longer than advertised so, no complains on that.It can be a interesting and entertaining toy if more durable.

Once we figured out just how to toss it, we loved playing with this! You have to ever so gently launch it at a slight tilt and it will glide nicely to the other person. My son figured out the tilt to make it return to him like a boomerang (or using "the force" as he calls it). We especially like to toss it around in the dark. It has crashed multiple times but so far so good. You can play maybe 10 - 15 minutes per charge (about the time you get bored of it, so that works out). The only complaint I have is where the on/off switch is located, we have to use a pencil to reach in and turn it on/off.

i purchased this flying ball toy for a 7 year old boy whose Mother could only afford a cake for his birthday. The flying ball toy was so awesome and he was so thrilled with it that he didn't notice that it was his only gift. He understood how to play with it right away and watching his face, I could tell that he thought it was magical! He even included his sisters in a game of toss and catch, and it held up very well. Weeks later, it is still his favorite toy and has given him hours of fun and wonder. It's also helping with his eye-hand coordination. I couldn't be happier with the results of my purchase!

My daughter wanted this for her birthday, but I was hesitant to buy it. She got an Amazon gift card for her birthday, so she bought this with her gift card.She loves this toy, and so does everyone in our house. It is way more fun than I expected. We all end up throwing this around the house. Often it ends up being a monkey in the middle game, and we all end up laughing hysterically.I did not have high expectations for this toy. I thought this would be one of those things that only worked for a short time, and then it would stop working or break, but this toy is still going strong after a month. The only complaint that I have is that it does die quickly, but at least it is rechargeable.

The flying ball toy was an extremely advanced toy for my kids. Although at first touch it felt nice, once we started playing with it we realized what it was. When my son threw it, it went like a regular ball. When it started coming back, it flew halfway and dropped to the floor. Soon, he started to get the hang of it and we were awed as we watched it fly back every time. An easy way to learn is to just drop it to the floor and watch it light up and hover. The only drawback was that it is hard to learn how to fly it. Easy to recharge and calibrate. Definitely read the manual twice before using it.
