Superb all rounders, you can listen all day without fatigue
Great speakers, plenty of punch and bass for the size, great soundstage and imaging. These are hard to beat for the price, you can listen all day without fatigue. You will need a powerful amplifier to get the best from these. I am using a Primare a30.2 power amplifier (120 watts per channel - dual mono design). Highly recommended.

This has a six and a half inch bass driver.
These speakers have six and a half inch bass drivers and are advertised here as having five and a quarter, am right ?

I replaced a set of Elac UB51’s with these. I am older and needed more mids and highs for better dialog understanding. I was going to buy the UC52’s (Unify 2.0), but I found a really good open box price for these at about $100 more. These are really good. More detail and slight boost in treble compared to the UB51’s. So much better for dialog, but for music too. My only concern is the list price. Not sure about $1200. They are currently on sale for $899, which seems about right. Don’t think I would go higher than that. There are too many other good speakers in the $1000 range.

I was going back in forth between getting these over a diy kit. I am glad I did, very please with the anesthetics, very nice design. They sound really good too, not the best center imaging I have ever heard but that could be my room. But the Soundstage is excellent. I am powering these with a 135 watt Onkyo 2 channels driven and they can handle max volume without clipping. They are lacking in the bass department so you do need add a powered sub to your setup. I add two svs subs to my setup and my system sounds awesome.

Soundstage and imaging are amazing (20ft wide in my room, around 7 ft out past the speakers). Just wernt as involving as I hoped, a bit on the conservative side as far as top end goes. May be perfect for some folks tho I returned mine.

The Elac speakers are installed in a bedroom and sound excellent even when powered by a new Yamaha A/V receiver. The first impression is their crisp sound detail coming from rather small boxes. They are on metal speaker stands that puts them at ear level when sitting in an easy chair. The only room for improvement would be the addition of a small powered subwoofer. Given the room size and speaker placement, a small (8 or 10 inch) cube would make this an almost perfect system. The Elac's seem to provide precise highs and mid tones and a subwoofer would fill out what's missing on the low end. In fact, there seems no point in speaker towers when these bookshelf units perform as well as they do.
