E-Z Microbiology (Barron's Easy Way)

Great book for my microbiology class!

This book is a must-have for anyone who goes cross-eyed looking at Microbiology charts and diagrams. For example, the Kreb's Cycle is broken down into simplified terms that are easy to connect to other lessons and you can build off that knowledge. It has a good flow, and seems to correlate subject matter from very broad into the more detailed aspects. The only downfall of the material, is that the book doesn't have colorful diagrams. They are pretty much all red and white, but this does not seem to affect understanding of the material at all. I personally have suggested this book to many people, all of which found it to be very helpful and easy to read. Great for high-school or college courses!

Let me start by saying that I was dreading taking a microbiology class. However I was surprised at how interesting this class would become. In fact it has become one of my favorite classes so far. This book was great. It has everything you need to succeed. I felt it was written in a way that helped me better understand the subject matter. I used the kindle version and loved being able to quickly search by key words. The graphics were helpful as well. I appreciated the quizzes at the end of each chapter as well as the recap section. I did not use any other book as I felt there was no need. The other books were dry and full of too much extra information. Whether this is your only book or a supplemental one you won't regret it. Im sure this book helped me earn an "A" in Micro. Thank you!!

Very helpful. My professor took a leave of absence after the first 3 weeks of Microbiology and this book helped me pass the first test! It is laid out similar to my textbook which is nice. I find the book to break down difficult topics. The only thing I find odd is it is only in black and white with keywords in red. This makes them jump off the page, but its odd to me that the diagrams are also only in red, black and white. Regardless, the book is useful.

This book is awesome. Very informative especially for amateur microbiology enthusiasts. Yes you need to remember or at least have your memory jogged of high school biology. Understanding anything requires understanding the nomenclature used by any field of study. This book offers excellent references and definitions of the necessary ingredients of microbiology.

So far, I am happy to get this. This will definitely help me out for the course later this fall. Even has some review of Biology - cellular chemistry (nice referesher!) I will be back when I need to refresh on A&P.

Extremely helpful. Makes micro easy to understand and enjoyable.Everything that is in my super expensive, overly complicated textbook was in this textbook. Depending on your professor and the structure of your class you will be able to get away with having this as your primary textbook. I am able to use it as my primary textbook in addition to the powerpoint slides that my professor hands out.I really wished I would have known about this book before I bought my overpriced textbook.

I bought this to accompany my studies for a microbiology class. I haven't taken a science class in years and needed a refresher. Short chapters review questions easy to read and understand material made this book an excellent choice.

Once again Barron's can't be beaten. Without have even one course in Biology, I learned a tremendous amount from Microbiology. Its an interesting topic dealing with Biology, DNA, Bacteria, Viruses and the Human Immune System. The later chapters of this complete book were too difficult for me, but I certainly got my monies worth. I'm so impressed with Barron's, I went ahead ordered Micro and Macro Economics, Grammar and French. I can`t wait to get started. Amazon`s delivery service and prices can`t be beaten. $15 is a lot better than $228 for a university textbook. When will they learn Nothing but praise. No complaints.

Good broad coverage of many microbiology topics.

The book is really good. Alot of this material is covered in university, so it's thorough and cheap. So if your looking for supplement material to help study with, this is it.
