Every so often you buy something that deserves 10 stars. This is one of those times. This garbage can is one of the best purchases I've made in recent times. It has a butterfly lid opening which allows me to store the can flush against my cabinet, under the counter's overhang. I couldn't do that with my previous bin because the lid would be obstructed by the counter.The dimensions of the can are perfect. 13 gallon bags fit snugly but not too tight.It opens with a manual foot pedal. No need for batteries or to have it close to an outlet for power.It's well built and very sturdy. I have a hard time moving it, so I imagine it would be difficult to overturn for pets or children.This can makes it easy to change out bags with its double bin design. Just lift the interior bin out of the can, rest it on the pedestal inside and change the bag. So simple.Lastly, it's super sleek looking and modern. Having it out on display in my kitchen is not an issue.Highly recommend!!

Undercabinet perfection
Pricey but the alternative was pulling it out all the time. So pretty. The butterfly opening made it perfect for under the counter where I removed a compactor and its too narrow for a cabinet. Its perfect for the space. Removable insert with a hole so the bag doesn't suck into it and get stuck. Really quality thickness. Im glad I paid for it because anything else looks trashy there.

Split top model when open fits perfectly under a 34 inch height, countertop, with room to spare
The split top model fits perfectly under my 34 inch height countertop, and when it’s open, there’s still a good 3 inches of clearance. Pretty good looking trashcan.

Perfect for a Tricky Counter
I have a can under a counter lip so that it's out of the way but as big as I can get away with. other cans smack the lip like a gong. because of the split lid design it stopped making my kitchen feel like it was on another episode of the gong show. my only complaint is I've had a hell of a time find trash bags that fit with out nearly tearing at the top band. the bag never falls but we have had a few split from the top down and that's quiet the mess.

It's great (but no child lock)
I'm giving this trash can five stars because I do love it. It's made well, looks great, easy to clean.The only negative, which is on me, is that I thought the lock was referring to a child lock. There is no child lock on this trash can. The lock is to keep the trash can open, not closed. But it's still a great product.

Totally worth the $
Just like other reviewers I was wondering if I was crazy paying this much for a trash can. If you were ever going to spend $$ on a trash can this is the one. This thing is sturdy! You step on the pedal and it doesn't rock around like my simple human trash can did. I like that you can't see the trash bag. It's slim and fits right into the space I needed it to but still holds my 13 gallon trash bags. Closes super quiet, no thunk! And keeps the trash smells inside! Yep I would totally buy this trash can again and again.
