The Garmin name is worth the money. Great camera. Very small size, is completely hidden behind rearview mirror. But the splitter so you can plug it directly in to the power supply on the back of your mirror, then you will have no visible wires and it powers on and off with your ignition. However, you can wire directly if you would like it to record even while parked. Quality of the video is great. The voice commands are a very nice added feature. The app works great as well. Make sure you get the correct SD card. Easy to install, runs without thinking and you can just tell it to save video or take a photo and it listens to you.

I’ve purchased this dash cam twice, and it continues to impress me with its performance. The compact design makes it easy to install without obstructing my view, and it captures clear video quality, both during the day and at night. I’ve used this product for many years and Even though there are newer versions I still only buy and recommend the 2 mini because of how small and simple it is, only one button on the back so if anything goes wrong your not searching for the record button but it also already has a good auto record with the app being free you can set up the sensitivity for When to record, This has saved me many times during insurance claims.

Great compact dash cam with wide field of view and easy to install. I purchased three units, though one failed after a short time. So far the other two has been without any issues. Nighttime clarity isn’t the best, but acceptable for basic use.

The item arrived immediatley. The app would not connect to the camera for more than a few seconds. The app had to create a temporary SSID to connect and that was only for a minute. Then I read where android phones have app problems. I can deal with all of that. The part that irritates is the sellers return. 1. I can print a label and return, no problem. Then a week passes and no refund, then Amazon makes it difficult to call them to investigate, then Amazon tells me they cannot track the return which is bull dodoo. Then I get an Amazon employee who understood the problem with resellers. I bought a refurbished unit and she credited my credit card. Do not buy from resellers on Amazon. I will buy refurbished from Amazon but not a third party anymore. And now my order history claims they are still waiting for item return. And the lesson is do not buy from resellers and Amazon makes it very difficult to call them. The item looked new but the Android app has issues. Apple app is supposed to work. I would of liked to of kept the unit but it is dependent on the app to work. And I will shop for another dash cam. Amazon I would dump the third party resellers that play those games because ultimatley it falls on your reputation and problem load. That's all folks.

I wanted to wait a couple of months before writing this review to really test out the camera. Good price point and ease of use. I wanted a camera I could just plug in to the lighter and be done. I watched many other tutorials on how to install wiring inside the trim and what tools to purchase. And I was happy with how it all turned out. Until now. Since getting this camera, I have been rear-ended at a red light on the school run. As I do not have a rear facing camera, it didn’t show anything. Then yesterday, a van turned from a side street without stopping directly into the middle lane where I was. He was obviously impaired and didn’t even look for ran me off the road. I had a fraction of a second to react and get out of the way before he was about to crash into me from the side. I just had to get out of the lane and quickly. Luckily there was no one in the third lane otherwise I would’ve been hit by another car from behind. All the video shows is the corner of the front of his van getting into my lane. As I had to veer away from him, he was behind me so the camera did not capture anything for me to even contact the police about his reckless driving. So I ask, what is the point? It looks like unless you have a rear one installed there is no point. The only point would be if you want to capture someone else’s accident in other cars in front of you — but this does not serve the purpose of recording an accident that happens to my car. It will only capture video for vehicle collisions in front of us. When someone comes at you from the back or from the side, it’s a moot point. I think I’ve been generous with three stars. The other extremely frustrating thing is having to sit in the car to view the footage. You can’t view it in the home and when you are in an accident and having to figure out how to access the footage, it is not as straightforward as it should be. It’s a hassle and an extremely slow process in my opinion. Very time-consuming. Finally, I leave you with this. You will not be able to capture any license plates, and I did read the reviews here that said the same thing. Even close up and in broad daylight and with video captured and you enlarging it or with a screenshot, you will not see any plate numbers. Again, I have to ask what exactly is the point of this dash cam other than to help other drivers in front of you or ahead of you capture their accidents because you certainly will not be able to capture your own unless you have multiple dash cameras all around your car which I can tell you, is not going to happen.

Very nice to have it have a Garmin 160 in the front and this mini in my rear windows as road rage has been getting really bad in my town having this and my other dash cam have saved me from alot of people that do poor choices
