Great mobile controller, BUT it's not a starter controller, it's a mobile controller!
I really want to give credit for how quality built this thing is. For what it is, it's amazing. Great sound, solid build quality. But this is NOT a starter DJ controller, this is a mobile dj have fun controller and for that purpose it's great. But if you are starting out, it's missing a lot of function you will want as a DJ. If you are looking for a starter controller look at the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX2 ( https://amzn.to/3JOiGCm ) or for $150 more the DDJ-FLX4 ( https://amzn.to/41wwckk ) these are perfect starting controllers, and have all the function you will need to do gigs, or where you need decent functions but not all the cost.

Great for starters
If you are looking to get into casual DJing, this gets you there for a great price. The size is good when you have limited space to work with, but frustrating when you can accidentally hit a few features if you are not careful enough. Overall I am really happy with it and am excited to see how good I can get on this piece of hardware.

Easy to Use
Excellent for quick cuts and edits for my Livestream. The buttons click hard and loud so there is extra sound when trying to cue or anything so its not really ideal for an actual DJ setting unless it is a small setting. Works great though. Easy to use.

Super great, fun, and portable
A lot of fun to mix with and super portable! Solid build and feels very sturdy. Worked immediately with seratto lite and pro like a charm!

1 band Eq is better then nothing!
For the price and size you can’t beat this little controller. Perfect for throwing in my backpack when I travel. Out of all the little ones I have tried this was my favorite because of the Bass level knob. If you DJ you know the importance of that knob. Only gripes are it only has 1 band eq aka bass knob and it useless and relic of a connection. Need to update that to USB C stat.

Easy to figure out, compact. Got it for my four teens to do something creative and they were able to figure it out

Its good!
Numark dj2go2 Touch PRO - Browsing Knob PRO - Better for scratching (i really don't care about this feature & feels cheap anyway) PRO - Ultralight & Compact PRO - Built-in sound card (16-bit) for direct audio output to speakers or headphones PRO - Numark advertises standard MIDI mapping for broader software compatibility; Hercules is focused on Serato DJ Lite/Pro. CON - No Bass & EQ Knob CON - Lacks channel faders and EQ controls (only has level knobs) CON - Feels cheap CON - Small knobs & pads. Small size might feel restrictive for complex mixing or larger hands Hercules Starlight PRO - Bass & EQ Knob PRO - Better build quality PRO - Better for big hands (Bigger knobs, pads & wheels) PRO - Bass EQ/Filter knobs per channel (can act as high/low pass filters) PRO - slightly higher 24-bit audio output PRO - Hercules includes an FX pad mode for triggering effects, which Numark lacks. Easy onboard access to FX via the pads CON - No Browsing Knob (still can do that via laptop) CON - No EZ scratching surface BUT still offers it if you push a button (not a deal breaker for me) CON - Bigger / Heavier than Numark (but not by much) CON - No channel gain knobs; only volume and bass/filter per deck (gain is on laptop) CON - Numark advertises standard MIDI mapping for broader software compatibility; Hercules is focused on Serato DJ Lite/Pro. CON - Dead space at end of crossfader on Hercules - But you can tape it off with plastic or something For me - Id go with the Starlight

Worked straight out the box. Connected via the usb lead provided to my Mac. Serato asked if I wanted to use laptop speakers and changed the setting in audio out in Serato so didn't have to use the master audio out as it played from the sound out on the Mac. Good because that's the setting I was at so didn't have to change anything. No audio latency issues when I tried master out and computer out simultaneously. Serato is a good program because I am completely new to DJ decks and it all has been quite intuitive. Serato is set in the preferences to show my iTunes library for use in the main program and it can also play from my Mac music app at the same time as using Serato. This is good as all my music is around 500GB and it gives me access to it all whilst analysing bpm and key. Good fun!
