Thunderbird Pyramid Flame Insert

I've had this thing for 3 months and it works flawlessly. Flame is perfect for my particular use. I use it at least 20 times a day or more. Shape of flame is awesome. My only gripe is that the springed mechanism that helps close the zippo case gets bound up. The only way to stop it is to just use it or manually pop the latch closed and back open. I think it has something to do with the spring itself. Your experience may be different, but I've had 3 Vector/Thunderbird inserts and they all got bound up. To clarify, it just feels rough when closing, the tab that moves to open and close the lid rubs against the side wall of the lid when it opens and closes, it just tends to feel rough when I'm experiencing this issue. Still worth it! Just buy it.

Worked great until I tried to refill it the first time. The refill nipple is stuck and spews out all the butane until the tank is empty when trying to refill. Bummer

Looks great and works fine. It's a bit difficult to get to work, so here's what I did: File down the plastic tabs so it will actually fit into the case. Then very slightly file down the flame strength screw. For some reason, when this screw presses against something, the flame dies. After that's done, it works as it should. Definitely cooler looking than a standard butane jet, and unlike my zippo butane inserts it actually lights every time. The flame is shorter than a traditional jet, meaning less chance you burn off an eyebrow by accident!

These work great, modernized my favorite old zippo.

I've had this for about a month and I can't recommend this enough. The wind resistance is remarkable for a butane lighter without the metal filament survival lighters have in them to relight them in high wind conditions. This design should be the standard in my opinion. I've had no issues when placing it in any of my Zippo cases like other reviewers seem to have. I'll be buying a few more of these in case they ever stop production/I lose them to TSA searches.

Easily the worst insert I have ever owned. Explain this one to me, it works outside a zippo shell but not inside one.? Plus it's flam is pathetic and weak. Tried sending it back n they want to make me pay shipping for them to get it back. I paid for shipping already n they refuse to pay me back for that even. So I'm apparently stuck with this JUNK cuz the company is made up of worthless scumbag pieces of ****. **** u!!

Never quite fit my zippo case properly, after a month it broke the hinge on the zippo. Used it without a case and got about a month out of it before something broke loose and it stopped working reliably. Overall it lasted me about as long as 4 disposable lighters. The ignition system was great while it worked, reliable flame every time I pushed the button down. It was lightweight and easy to fill and check the level of fill on it. The pyramid flame did not light my cloves very well compared to dual flame lighters. It was a decently wind resistant flame, I could use it in the car with the convertible top down.
