The BOLSA rope bag is designed for climbing: worn on the back, it allows the user to move around quickly with his gear. Unfolded, the 1.4 m square tarp creates a place for the rope, while protecting it from dirt, leaves, gravel... After climbing, the rope is easily stacked and stored.

bag is great for the price, but could use some "improvements"
Pro's: The bag fits my rope, slings, harness, and hardware for a top rope setup without any problem. The funnel design works well for loading. Unloading is a little more work, but I found that if you lay the tarp out a bit, and pull the rope out by hand it comes out without any tangles, or problems. The tarp is a decent size, and kept my rope out of the dirt even though the placement was a bit rough, and hard to manage.Con's: There is no way to clip any gear to the outside of the pack. Even a single daisy chain down the middle would be a huge improvement (I'll be adding that myself). a small pouch for keys, snacks would be nice as well. The straps are a bit painful, but it is not so much due to the zero padding as much as the way they pull your shoulders apart. I found that clipping them together with a carabiner made them much more comfortable (but the carabiner was a bit uncomfortable on its own). I'll be adding a sternum strap. On the upside. I tied the two ends together on the center loop, and tied the middle of the rope to the loop on the tarp. After I had my TR rigged I clipped the center and through the bag down. The line payed out perfectly with no snags, and jams. I know it's not exactly for a TR, but it did the trick. So, add a daisy chain, and a sternum strap. For now I'm just gonna throw in a ditty bag for my keys/snacks.

It's better on paper, but gets the job done.
Let me preface this review with the fact that I have only used it a couple of times so maybe over time my opinions will change. Overall the bag is good for the price and gets the job done. The tarp is the perfect size in my opinion and seems pretty durable. A lot of people complained about the straps being uncomfortable but with my 60m rope it seems to distribute the weight well enough that I doesn't cause me any discomfort. My problems come with getting the rope into and out of the bag. I bought this bag because of how convenient it made the process sound. I thought that all I would have to do would be flake out my rope onto the tarp, shake, and voila rope nice and neat in the bag. Instead it takes me a good 30 seconds of hard shaking to get my rope to go in. Which after a long day of climbing when my arms are worn out is pretty challenging. Also I thought that getting it out would be smooth as butter too. I thought that I would be able to open up the bag and use it like a bucket bag and just feed rope to the climber. The problem with that is that when the rope gets shook into the bag it gets all tangled making it impossible to use the rope right out of the bag. I always have to yank the rope out of the bag and re-flake the rope before climbing. Granted I am using a 10.5 mm rope that is a little old and stiff which I'm sure plays a factor. The bag does allow some room for gear at the top. I can only fit 2 items. For example I can fit my quickdraws and harness, or my shoes and harness, but not all three. Also the bag is compact enough that I can strap it to my 45L pack with no problems.

Super fast way to store your rope. Not as comfortable as I would have liked
I wanted a safe, clean, easy way to store my new climbing rope. I knew going into the purchase the shoulder straps have no padding and aren't the most comfortable. That's true and the only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5. Just a touch of padding would have been nice. But then, it would have turned a $25 rope bag into a $50 I guess so take that into account as well.I do recommend buying this bag if you want a simple rope bag that's easy to store the rope with and has a broad built-in tarp for rope protection at the crag. I like it, I'm happy with it and I'll probably buy another one when I get my 60m outside rope in the spring.

Great storage bag, feels weird on back
This is a great rope bag! I've had mine for like a year and haven't seen any wear or tear. It's not the most durable material, but as long as you take care of it, it will take care of you. There's enough space at the top after putting in the rope to fit a couple harnesses, shoes, and quick draws, etc. Although with 2 people's gear it gets a little packed. The biggest downside to this bag is how it feels when you're wearing it. The backpack straps aren't exactly made for comfort, and I usually just end up slinging both around one shoulder rather than actually wearing it as a backpack.

Great rope bag but there needs to be a v2 with some improvements
The bag is constructed very well and seems like it will last a long time. The biggest downside are the straps. They are thin, not padded at all, and not really designed for a cross-body carry. The bag is meant to be a backpack, which is an odd choice since a climber will almost always have a main backpack for the bulk of their gear. So how is one supposed to carry two backpacks at once? This same bag with a single, much wider and padded strap running down the middle would be much more convenient.

Flake it out and shake it down
Cool rope bag. Just flake out your rope into the middle of the connected tarp, grab the corner loops and shake the rope down into the bag. I usually just fold the tarp down to take up less space but you could easily stuff the tarp down into the top of the bag. I’ve only used it for short ropes around 20-35m but it carries these pretty comfortably. I barely notice it’s there. I’m sure a 60+m rope would be more noticeable but would probably still be ok from a comfort standpoint.

Good deal!
For $30 bucks it’s a deal. I can fit my rope, harness, and climbing shoes. The only negative thing is that I wish they had made the straps thicker because the back pack is pretty heavy with all the gear inside and hurts the shoulders, other than that it’s a pretty sturdy backpack.

Great carry-all bag with a nifty rope-funneling feature!
Holds 60m of rope, harness, shoes, chalk bag, and a few extra things. The tarp funnel feature works well after getting used to it. Two rope tie-offs ensure the rope doesn’t get tangled, and the tarp folded over the rope keeps small things like my lock and belay devices from mingling with the rope at the bottom of the bag. I could see how the straps my not be the most comfortable over time, but I haven’t noticed for the short walk between my car and the gym.

Probably the closest thing there is to the thing you probably want, but it's probably not the thing you probably want
I like the bag but it shows that there's something seriously missing in the rope bag market. I picked this bag because it was the closest thing to what I wanted from a rope bag. I wanted two straps so I can wear it like a backpack rather than a messenger style bag, a decent size tarp that stuffs into the bag, and enough room for a rope and some gear.Firstly, the bag could have been a different shape to make more room. As can be seen from the pictures, there is a rectangular base that tapers to the top, so the zip is at the tip of the bag, giving the side profile a triangular shape. They could have just made the form factor cuboidal, allowing for twice as much gear to be placed at the cost of minimal extra material. The bag overall screams lightweight, but it would have made such a difference to add padding to the straps, as it hurts the shoulders after a while. Also more real estate on the bag would be great, like a few extra loops or pockets to store gear or extras. Personally I think there's no excuse for having it as bare as it is - even if I was carrying just a rope in it.It's a good rope bag, it has a nice tarp, it's sturdy, it's missing a lot, but it seems to be the best on the market

utile

Wirklich gut durchdacht, hält was es verspricht
Tip top Rucksack.
