Vinland Saga 8 Review: Continues to be an absolutely spectacular historical manga! - I adored this most recent volume in the Vinland Saga. Thorfinn is back home and trying to decide what to do with his life, he really wants to settle Vinland and goes about trying to find funding for that. Meanwhile Gudrid is supposed to marry Halfdan’s son and would rather be sailing. This volume has a lot less war and action in it but it is still very engaging and entertaining. That being said we do still see how the war in the region has a huge impact in people’s lives. There is also more discussion on the lot women have in this region as Gudrid struggles against the expectations laid on her. I love that this book has great characters, great dialogue, an epic story, and some humor. This continues to be an absolutely amazing series full of adventure. The illustration is phenomenal; there is so much detail and care. Overall a spectacular continuation in this series. This is my absolute favorite manga series out there. Every aspect of this story is just so well done. I would recommend to everyone. This is one fantastic historical fiction manga series and has remained constantly awesome. Review: My First Manga - I'm new to anime. My friends convinced me to watch Vinland Saga, and I was completely hooked. I couldn't wait for the next season to be animated, so I bought the manga, and I was not disappointed. Book 8 ends on a great cliff hanger that left me borderline enraged lol. We get quality with Leif, Bug eyes, Einar, and Thorfinn that reinforces the bonds between the characters; moreover, we're reminded of the lingering consequences of Thorfinn's past life as a Warrior. All in all bloody amazin.

Wow!!!!
One of my favorite volumes so far and love the way the last quarter or a bit more about was just amazing to me. Love as always the art and the different story you find usually in a manga. Just love the story thus far and cant wait to see where it goes.

I don’t read these
Lol, so no, I don’t read these. However, I have purchased 1-9 over the past few years for my nephew. According to him, the gift makes me an “awesome Aunt.” So, my fellow Aunts and Uncles, if you want to please that manga loving niece or nephew in your life, look no further! (Y’all have no idea how long I went not knowing the proper way to pronounce the word manga.)

A New story arc continuing the canon Vinland saga. Though the premise does not show its true potential yet with this being the first issue of a new story, the writing and characters continue to be written in a fun and approachable way. True to the previous two arcs the first issue has set up the base work for the story to come. Strong story, historically accurate set pieces, that really show the passion for the source material (in this case vikings), Vinland saga continues to do for vikings what Hajimi no Ippo did for boxing. Real passion and solid talent continue a fantastic and tragic romp for a title truly deserving of the moniker "saga".
