Got these speakers to replace some older bookshelf speakers in a vintage stereo system. I read a lot of reviews about current budget bookshelf speakers and settled on these for their solid base and effective high end. They have that and the midrange was better than expected. I don't normally crank them too high, but they are able to be played a bit loud and they hold true at all volumes that I've tried. I was surprised how warm they are too. They have a nice retro look to them and the build quality is very good. Particularly if you can pick them up on sale, these Polks are a nice option for stereo speakers.

I’m very happy with the sound of the XT20’s. I purchased a turntable with a built in amp with external speakers and wanted better sound and this worked out great. I have increased bass and treble. I was concerned if the low power amp built into the turntable would have enough power for these speakers but I actually have more volume than before. These speakers are brighter and have more low end than the stock speakers and it’s what I wanted since the amp in the turntable does not have bass or treble controls. Highly recommended these speakers. I added foam isolation pads under the speakers which I also purchased through Amazon.

Sounds amazing. I was thinking of adding a subwoofer for small speakers, but these supply great bass in a small or medium sized room.Vocal, Mids and Highs are also crystal clear.

I have an older Sony receiver in my garage where I spend a bit of my time working on various projects. I hooked up these speakers and was impressed with the great sound quality. Plenty of bass from these bookshelf speakers, clean mids and highs. Build quality is very good, I would recommend them for those who like good old rock and roll!

These speakers sound good

The speaker itself sounds great, but it came with damaged corners. Though I have never had previous issues, I guess that is what you risk when you buy Amazon Resale. They are damaged but I am keeping them as I dont want to go through the effort of the return.

Great speakers - with great range - note the 38HZ to 40kHZ range for the price. Other speakers have ranges starting at 50+ HZ on the low end - this makes a BIG difference for any music where good bass is important - You can really hear tubas, timpani (kettle drums), cellos and bassoon instruments from these speakers! Hats off to the Polk company designers for making a great product - I will keep Polk speakers in mind for more speaker needs.

I have these paired to a cassette deck and a Sony 5800SD. They sound absolutely incredible! I'm glad I went with these. I was debating more budget options and these were more than id normally spend but we're well worth it. The clarity is great and the bass performance really surprised me. I like how they look both with and without the covers, too.
