I was in the market for a SAD treatment lamp due to my issues associated with shortage of sunlight here in the UK. I purchased this unit because I was attracted by the mood lamp feature, relatively high brightness and Bluetooth connectivity.The unit is quite well made, designed in Germany, so feels more trusted than other Chinese brands.The white light is really nice, I feel like it did make a difference in my mood and reduced my sleepiness however according to the specifications the white light is at 5500k temperature and I believe proper SAD treatment lights are supposed to be 6500k lights.What caught my attention is that the item listing itself advertises no UV emissions yet the manual informs of small 'no risk' amount of UV emissions. Certainly nothing to worry about, most kinds of lights emit a bit into the UV range, however I didn't like the fact that the item description said UV free where this theoretically isn't the case.Moving on, I tried the Android app and the experience wasn't very great. It seems that if you control the light via the app, it enters some App control mode where the actual brightness buttons on the device cease to work. Same with the app, if you had set up the light previously via the buttons, the app will reset it when you take over control. Simply, the control protocol doesn't synchronise the state very well.One interesting fact is that the lamp was not supposed to be used for more than two hours in a row to avoid overheating. Aside from therapy, I wanted to use it as a normal lamp, as there is nothing special about it other than the fact it has a good CRI and is theoretically close to being a full spectrum light to help with SAD treatment. Unfortunately, the lamp did get quite got after a few hours of running at full brightness, this is despite the fact it is LED based.The mood light feature deserves one sentence, very low brightness, you're cheap Chinese multi colour bulb can most likely do better than that.Finally, talking about remote control, there is no support for Alexa or Google Home not any of the other alternative platforms. After contacting Beurer to request documentation how the Bluetooth control protocol works, I was refused to be provided this information. An attempt at reverse engineering it also didn't go very well. This means that I couldn't create my own control script and hook it into my home automation system which ended up a major issue rendering the Bluetooth feature useless to me. This pinned my decision to return the unit.Since then I've invested half of the cost of this lamp into old fashioned fluorescent tubes and starters, stuck it on the wardrobe and now I have a couple of thousand of lumens to keep me awake, much more than this lamp could provide.I'd recommend to go with the cheaper, non Bluetooth version and save over half of the money.

Nice and bright and easy to use with both the app and manual controls. Brightness is variable. Finish of the light is good. Not cheap but worth it on dull days when working.Not that you would not want the light in front of you off you're working (least I don't). It can be glare and distract so I have it behind me.

I enjoyed using the device and definitely felt it helped but this could be a placebo effect. Seemed well made but as with so many chinese made goods the electronics failed. Cannot fault Amazon who replaced item immediately.

Great brightness and as a sucker for colours love the mood lamp. The app is easy to use. However, the buttons for manual control are awkward, hence 4 stars, nearly 3 as get very frustrated.

This lamp is brilliant and couldn't be more pleased. Great quality of light and a number of useful features. Keeps me and my parrot happy in the long, dark winter days and also works well as a backlight for reading music on the piano. I looked at a number of options and very happy that I chose this one. Several friends intend to get one before next winter.
