Ideal online connections & visual interface.
Awesome mixer. Visual interface ups mixing options—maybe unlimited now. Connections with local and online music are actually easy. A great machine.

Value and functionality Beyond Belief!
I bought this because of the incredible price drop to under $500. I have to admit that I was intitally thrown off by the UI--Mostly because it is different from the Pioneer gear that I am accustomed to using. After putting the device down for a couple of days, I picked it up again to determine if it was a keeper. After a deeper dive into Engine DJ, I am pleasantly surprised! It is far more feature rich that I anticipated. Updates added Touch FX and other nice features. I stream a lot from Tidal and routinely import playlists/sets from Rekordbox with ease! This things is a take-everywhere music box. Jog wheels are not my favorite, but feel nice and are scratch capable. I am not a regular Serato user, but I was able to use this as a controller for Serato DJ Lite. It also works with Serato Pro and Virtual DJ. This is worth the buy and the time invested to learn it. One of my best buys ever in any category!

Numark did it again!
One of the best controllers I’ve used. Love it. Intergrades with Virtual DJ and has some of the best features. Easy to use and touch screen is amazing.

Garbage
Five minutes after unpacking the product and setting it up, the Numark Mixtsream Pro started doing all sorts of crazy stuff. It started off as one deck would work but not the other and then quickly progressed to creating worse problems like crackly sounds and very crappy issues with the sensors. If I put my hand even 6 feet away from the joggers, it cuts of the sound completely…ON MINIMUM SENSIVITY LEVEL. Oh, and my favorite part: You touch the back of your the controller where all of the ports are and suddenly everything sounds normal. Take it off and BOOM: Crap again. I tried everything from plugging into a grounded AC outlet (which I originally did), software updates, rebooting, trying different services, checking for interference with other equipment, ect. I reached out to Numark Customer Support and it took forever for someone to reach out to me about my ticket. Finally got ahold of someone and they asked me to provide all this information and share a video of the problem I was having. It’s been 4 days and no one even responded to me after providing all that information. Reached out on the online chat feature that they provide on their website and they told me that they saw a ticket open and couldn’t help me even though the guy said it was a “hardware issue” I’d also like to mention that thing is not worth it’s price and is EXTREMELY far from what it’s worth at it’s original pricing. It’s almost criminal what they’re asking for. The whole thing is just plastic. Just invest in something better that offers more effects because otherwise, you’re wasting your money!

Streaming is iffy at best, generally mediocre
Things you should know: 1.) SoundSwitch for light control is gonna run you $300 if you don't use the one built into this device. For instance, you want to hook this up to a laptop with VirtualDJ instead, there goes your light support. 2.) There is no way to pre-scan BPM/key from online playlists on Tidal, and it's iffy about remembering them after playing. You'll have to either play every single song on your playlist 1 at a time beforehand, or use one deck to load and scan songs while the other is playing your current track, which is stressful to say the least 3.) Overall quality is kinda mid. It feels like the software is struggling a bit on this hardware, and I got all kinds of random freezes, crashes, etc. Kinda wish I'd returned it and gone for a nicer one while I had the chance. 4.) while all-in-ones are all the rage rn, this really suffers in comparison to full-scale software. 5.) As of July 5th, 2023, this is not yet supported by Djay AI. Also wish I knew that during the return period, bc the nicer Denon counterparts to this are.

A few things happened.... the delivery guy threw the box in a snowy ditch 200 feet from my house next to the road in a box clearly marked NUMARK. When i opened the box i realised the metalic inlays for the jog wheels were not installed properly, i had to use ceramic knife to remove and reseat them they are the touch resistive part kind of important. my theory is they fell off in the cold. other than that the unit is amazing have been messing with it all afternoon. despite the currier employee being disgruntled it arrived on time.

Had this for over a year now, fantastic product for learning or relearning (in my case) beat matching and also the perfect hobby for anyone who doesn't have the space and money for a full set up especially if you utilise it with a straining service like beatport.

This is a fantastic piece of DJ equipment, so long as you understand what it is for and are happy it will meet your needs. My needs are met by this, and I have no intention of using streaming services so I can't comment on that (although there are several videos on YouTube that show this). I have two USB sticks in the back (currently a 32gb and 64gb and also a 256gb SD card. You can swap between these sources while playing and the best way to play your music (imo) is to prepare your playlists using the Engine DJ software on your PC first, then transfer it to the memory stick and put it in the player. You can set cue points, preset loops and apply star ratings as well as make whatever play list structure suits your style of playing. You can record your sets straight back onto the memory stick which is excellent also. As Numark is under the same parent company that owns Denon DJ (and also Rane and Alesis), the Engine OS software is the exact same as is used in the Denon top of the line hardware, and as such is first class! I have owned it for a couple of months and alreadynitbhas had three firmware updates in that time, which have added some significant improvements. Not least of all is an inbuilt sample player which you can either use the samples they provide or load in your own; and that is a major thing for me! I had been using Serato, VDJ and Traktor Pro prior to buying this, but since then I haven't touched them at all. Serato has so many effects sometimes I don't know what to use, and Traktor can be the same, so the limited set on offer here is quite alright with me! There is the turntable brake function available all the while, with adjustable length, and then echo, delay, flanger and phaser. I don't really use the last two but the echo and delay are very useable, as it the hi-pass/low pass filter. I got it on a deal of 33% off for £450 and it's worth that all day long. I would probably have been happy to pay more, given that it is a standalone unit that has speakers in-built that are good enough for a bedroom party or just hook up a subwoofer to the main output and balance the sound between the onboard speakers and the sub as I was doing! This really is an incredible unit for the price as you don't need to run a laptop and a controller as this does it all. On top of that it can control DMX lighting and Philips Hue lights, something I might like to get into in the future. Highly recommended!
