Jax a member of the inferno force was captured by the Kronoke. The Drexians find a human woman who will risk it all to Sneak into the ship and break him out. She agrees the mission starts off smoothly but as soon as she enters the enemy ship everything that could go wrong does go wrong. Add to it that Jax is suffering from betrayal and anger from a previous human bride he was less than pleased to see a human woman rescuing him. and thus the adventure really begins they get off the enemy ship only to be chased, crash land on a moon where everything is trying to kill them ,uncover a secret prison , make peace with each other , drive one another crazy and fall helplessly in love with one another! Maybe I should have read this series in order and started with book 1. I rarely do the read out of order thing, but the synopsis for this book was interesting so I dove in. I like this one. Though I started out loving it, then I got a bit frustrated with the journey and also not really being able to quite place our Hero, Jax, due to not much detail given regarding him. Except that he's buff, with long dark hair. Maybe the Author did this because she wants the reader to fill in with their own mind's eye, which is good, I guess. But I like a little more detail so I can fill in the blanks while reading the story.But the second half of this one was super intense and sweet, so the 3 stars this one was going to get got bumped to 4.And the Epilogue now has me wanting to dive right into book 3, instead of going back to book 1 first. LOL.. Decisions, decisions.

Tana still comes up with imaginative scenarios that follow the couple from their introduction to finally accepting that they are going to be mates. Usually there is resistance on one or both their parts to the idea of becoming permanent love mates. Happily, that usually follows a pattern of resistance, attraction, erotic interlude(s), dangerous circumstances, capture and escape or rescue! My dream mix for avid reading! Keep it up, Tana!

This is the story of Jaxon and Samaria. “Sam” was brought in to help Jaxon escape a Kronock prison. She’s a cat burglar with skills in electronic locks and such. She frees him and they escape. But the Kronock damage the ship they’re escaping in and it crashes on an alien planet where the Kronock have an underground prison. Always exciting! They work together to navigate the area where they crashed. While on the run they meet Fillian who managed to escape the prison. The story goes on to show us how they develop a relationship of sorts even though Jax is not interested in a relationship with a human. He was supposed to have bonded with a Tribute Bride but she turned him down leaving him with little use for human females. Read on and find out how they worked together. The story is entertaining. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. Otherwise, enjoy!

The only sex scene before the ending of the book was when he was rescued after being held hostage and tortured, then they both fell into basically a quicksand pit in the swamp, after trampling through said swamp for a couple days, all sweaty and gross, sooooo the scene really, really didn't come across as sexy at all to me :(There was NO other sex, sexual buildup or anything that I could detect before this encounter:(The action was mostly good, although she had the entire underground prison collapse without any given reason, like say, she could have easily had one of the rescue planes unknowingly land on top of it, therefore starting the collapse because the pilot didn't know there was an underground cavern dug out 4 stories deep... but instead she just didn't give any explanation at all for the sudden collapse of what had been there for years and years :( all just for the sole purpose of putting the h & h in 1 final peril before the book's ending :( Poor form, but most of the other action made much more sense and was a lot better.Overall, I gave 3 stars die to a good action book kept me entertained and I'll give her next book a try, this being her first thst I've read.

The author got this one right, we have a strong capable female. Best bit is she's normal not hot headed and brash but she isn't whimpering and simpering either. Most of the fails I've read are that the women tend to be bullies and the men still "love" them.It's a nice read with action and heart. Sam just nailed being a normal strong female lead.Highly recommend.

Well Ms Stone has excelled herself with this novel!! Loved both Jacob and Samiara!! I love the fact that the author uses women of colour in her novels and Sam is one hell of a character, full of courage and determination. Oh Sam has got to be a secret Inferno warrior as she has their bravery in spades!! Really enjoyed this novel. So much action and tension!! Fabulous read!!

I have enjoyed every minute of this book and the whole series they are truly addicting and when I start reading one i can't put it down i would recommend these books to everyone they're beautifully written , fast paced ,they keep you engrossed till the very end ,so sexy and the drexian warriors are so hot can't wait to read the next book ,brilliant writing Tana.

I've read so many of Tana's books and enjoyed every one of them! The Drexians are the most appealing species of males I've ever read about! Carry on the great writing Tana. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Tana has another hit on her hands with this series. Really enjoying it. Jax and Sam’s story was completely different. Can’t wait to read the next instalment.
