They work. Exactly as described.
Good stuff. Pricey, but OEM is worth it to me to avoid the cheapness hassles.

OEM is best for anyone printing pictures on a Canon Pixma Printer
Don't make a mistake by buying a non-OEM alternative if you plan to print pictures using your Canon Pixma printer. I have purchased these a couple of times and highly recommend them for your printer.

Excellent Photo Reproduction but Expensive
This review is applicable to the CLI-251 cartridges regardless of color. The Canon ink/printer/paper combination produce very attractive photo images. The six cartridge system does not have the color gamut to achieve the matching of professional printers but is a cost effective system for the advanced amateur photographer requiring only low print volumes. The inks are expensive at roughly $1.35/ml in XL size and over $1.50/ml in the standard size. Ink for professional printers in larger cartridge size is in the range of $0.40/ml, less than 1/3 the cost of the CLI-251 XL cartridge inks. The Chromalife 100+ ink is over hyped by Canon marketing citing the potential 100-300 years of storage life rather than the 30 year display life. I print in order to display my work rather than to store it in an album. The 30 year display life satisfies my need but is not very good compared to other ink/paper combinations using pigmented inks which deliver 75-150 years under the same test conditions. In summary, image quality would rate 5 stars, ink costs 2 stars, and display life 3 stars for an overall rating of four stars.

Like the size
We have a couple of printers that take the 250/251 ink tanks. I like the XL size. I'm tracking how long it last compare to the standard takns.

Genuine Canon Ink
Ink came on time, box was intact and in good condition. For Canon printers that use #251 ink, not all the packages of several colors contain the gray. Others don't contain the #250 PGBK Black. Occasionally one must buy a single color. I always want genuine Canon ink. If you do so, beware that some inks offered by 3rd parties show Canon packages carefully Photoshopped to remove the word "Canon." If you want genuine ink, be careful, especially if the price is a lot lower than expected. The other ink cartridges may be good, but I've had issues before.
