Boss does not fit UK standard fittings
Great idea, was great solution to a space constrained fitting problem. However, I couldn't find any standard fitting to connect into boss. I had to cut down rubber boss to fit 1/2" (40mm) standard uk pipe

Useable—with much effort.
Tough—but a weird, non-standard size. (Really—really—hard to push in. Perhaps 1 to 1.5 mm smaller than British standard.)
