SULKY-Iron-On Transfer Pens

I love, love, love, these transfer pens.I love to embroider, but don't love the selection of pre-printed patterns to embroider (or even the items themselves). Tracing from pictures to fabric, or drawing directly onto fabric, also not so fun even with a light box. . Having zero artistic talent for drawing free hand and a large collection of 'clip art', I was way excited to hear about these pens.My Sulky Iron-On Transfer Pens arrived yesterday, on time and in perfect condition. Test drove one of them last night. I traced a fairly intricate Celtic clip art design which was reduced to 2.5 inches using the orange pen. I am truly impressed with the outcome. First there was no bleeding. The lines transferred exactly where I put them. I think it will take a bit of practice to get a super fine line, however I feel it just might be possible using less pressure on the pen. On the very first attempt, I was able to get a line that once transferred could easily be covered using a variety of stitches and two threads of floss.The nice thing about the color selection in this packet is that you can also trace the pattern using colors that more closely resemble the thread that will be used for the embroidery. That way, if the embroidery doesn't cover as expected, the 'outline' doesn't stand out as much.Packaging is pretty nifty too. The tube you see screws down and can be 'hung' from the top (which also seems to be well made). Nice way to keep the pens together, with less chance of them drying out and ultimately easier to find them in the midst of all the 'craft stuff'. I plan to hang mine from the zipper pull of my sewing bag.Although the reviews say that these pens have a very long life, I think I'm going to be using them a lot, so will order a few more sets.I am now looking forward to doing several far more complex projects.

Love these felt tip type pens with a shaker ball inside the tube to keep the ink mixed. The tips have a pump like action, you'll need to practice to make sure you don't get too heavy of a flow. I copied a tracing of a rose in red, outlined in black and green stem leaves. Ironed it onto a denim scrap and it worked great! Haven't had time to work on other items, but I plan to print out funny sayings, trace using these color pens, iron onto cloth, add on some embroidery embellishments and frame for gifts. Cool stuff!

These pens are both easy to use and work as they are supposed to. They haven't run out of ink yet either. I will certainly be purchasing these again when they need to be replaced!

This product is pretty cool, and works as it states, I wish there was a way to give Stars to the product only, andthen give stars to how it was shipped. If this was just a product review only, I would give it 5 stars. Works quite well for what it is, and kids are very impressed with how well it works. Smears a little if you iron too long. Directions say Iron for 30 seconds, but that is way too long and ink really starts to smear by then. 10 to 15 seconds seems plenty if you have a hot iron. Shipping was a BIG disappointment thought. I purchased it with Amazon Prime on Friday, and still didn't have it by Wednesday. I needed it fast. I would have upgraded my shipping if I thought I wouldn't actually get it in 2 days, like usual. This was the first time Amazon Prime has let me down when I depended on that 2 day shipping that was promised. It was shipped fed ex, and they sent an email stating it would be delivered on Tuesday, but then changed it to be delivered later? Why? because they handed it over the post office to deliver, instead of fed ex delivering it them-self. POST OFFICE DELIVERED IT LATE, AND I NEEDED IT ON TIME!!!Ended up spending all day Wednesday trying to find the product locally, but no one carries it around here. So, the 3 star rating is for the SLOW SHIPPING.

I purchased these pens several months ago and just now got around to using them. WOW!! What an easy way to transfer drawings to fabric. I just transferred cute little animal drawings to doll quilts I'm making for my granddaughters. So much easier than trying to draw them freehand or use a lightbox. I will definitely be using these more and more now that I know how easy it is to transfer drawings. What a great way to put drawings of children on tee shirts.

So I tried them out and not sure what I’m doing g wrong but I heated to 400 and pressed 40 seconds. Tried 50 and 60 but couldn’t get the black to transfer black. It was bluish or purplish.

These work great. Have used other transfer pens that smear when ironing but not these. Can do several transfers on same tracing. Excellent product. Nice fine point for detail work.

I have been trying to use these transfer pens in two different colors to transfer letters and patterns on to beading foundation for making brooches, both black and white. They don't transfer on to the foundation. Perhaps they will transfer on to regular cotton fabric for embroidery, but they don't work the way I need them to.
