Bought this to replace my broken trekking pole. Much more durable and many more uses.

As a hiking tool this is good, beyond good, it loses one star because the included foot isn't good as an indoor walking one, and the included tools are, as with any of these, of dubious quality. For my purposes this is a self defense walking implement, and for that purpose, it would get 5 stars, for a survival hiking pole it needs better quality tools. The upside is you can lighten this up by removing the tools.

I bought this primarily for getting into back country when going up steeper hills is easier with a walking stick, or when personal safety might be an issue (dogs, thugs, wild animals and the like) and a bit of visual deterrent might be a handy thing to have.The metal spike on handle is reassuring, since you might need to break a vehicle window for emergency egress if you get into worst case scenario of an accident…Which probably won’t happen, but you just never know. Smaller window breaker/seat belt cutters are okay, but they can be out of reach in such a case because everything in the vehicle goes airborne quickly after a really bad collision. Sure, that might never happen, but like car insurance, it gives you that much more peace of mind. I would not count on the blade for defending myself, because an attacker just ain’t likely to wait patiently while you unscrew it for access, but it would be very handy to ward off animals or even spear a fish if you got into a survival situation in back country. I like it because it does have a lot of utility uses beyond the obvious, and it’s one more thing that might be very useful for a number of situations, and it’s a handy thing to have around for more than one reason!

They could put a piece of paper saying the different ways to assemble? Or a video to a youtube clip? After 20 minutes and no knowing what was going to be uncapped (sharp or dull), I put it down and needed a lot longer to figure out the best configuration. And the bag is a joke. One step up from a grocery store plastic bag.

This tactical hiking stick is excellent!Solid construction, very sturdy. it is EXACTLY the right height to be used as a cane.This is probably one of my best purchases in the past few years.It's going to be very useful the next time some coyote or unfriendly dog decides to confront my wife and me on our morning walk! Highly recommended!!

The cane is great. Sturdy and versatile. However the seller is less than desirable. The pictures show the black carrying bag but I received the disgusting camo one. I thought it might have been an error but the seller added this garbage quality black bag which is useless to hold the sections in any sort of organization. Therefore they are misrepresenting the item on purpose. This may not be a big deal to most people but I needed the bag to be black. There are plenty of pictures out there that show the camo bag that they could screenshot and use, but this is knowingly misleading. Here's the pic they should be using if they didn't want to be dishonest

I need a cane due to having MS and I'm in my 30s so I go camping and hiking with it often, I love this product so much that after a few years of owning one (from a different seller I believe) I bought this one for another convenient location for me to use. The survival stuff is cool just to have but weigh a lot......oh speaking of, when I bought this it had a different picture and description and this seller included a pocket backpack which I didn't know this product had, which is cool because I can stick all the extra survival pieces it comes with in it and stash that backpack on my coat rack.

Wrong! Did not come with a straight edge blade, saw or a harpoon! "This walking stick is a multifunctional tool set. This hiking cane is not only a trekking pole but also including many tools.
