It is constructed of very thin material and obviously not good quality. Don't waste your time and effort on ...
I wouldn't give this product any stars if Amazon would permit it. I carefully read the reviews and knew I was taking a chance on this item. But it is the only air mattress on line that is phylate free, no out-gassing smells. I have MCS and this matters to me. Out of the box the charging cord was missing. I was forced to use my vacuum to test fill it.I did not over fill it. I laid down on it for a test run. Within seconds the material burst open under minimal pressure. It is constructed of very thin material and obviously not good quality.Don't waste your time and effort on this product I give it 0 stars.

Super tough, super light, even for every night use!
I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. We purchased 2 of the twin sized aerobed ecolites back in the summer & they have been subjected to every night use & lots of abuse from my young kids and their friends thinking the beds are trampolines. The pump may be weird, but you can use any old pump with it (I actually used my shopvac blowing option to air it right up). It has a wide mouth so you can insert any device from a vacuum cleaner hose on down. AND it HOLDS AIR! We rarely have to put more air in these things. Let me tell you, they are tough! AND they don't smell bad like PVC! They kind of smelled slightly funky right when I opened the package but it went away in a few minutes vs. pvc stench for days.Plus, you can put it on a bedframe with the right support under it & use it like a regular bed!We have had other twin air mattresses as well as 3 queen pvc air mattresses just since last summer and everything has popped but these. I would not hesitate- go for it! I am ordering a queen sized one for use in our bedroom! It has helped my husband's back problems significantly to sleep on one of these.

... - it is for a short time and items like this we do not always use right away
Be careful about the AeroBed return policy - it is for a short time and items like this we do not always use right away. I ordered two (a twin and a queen). the twin leaks badly. I gave it time thinking it would settle in. It is the valve that is leaking and its not going to get better. I think it is a poor design because the value is so large (the valve is the same size as the cap you see. And it is a flimsy circle of material. When I unscrew the cap, I can hear the leak and it is pronounced. A friend used it and said it was fine but I think she was being polite. I used it recently and by morning I could feel the platform under the bed.I have back problems and used the queen bed which did not leak but something about the design made it like a standard non air mattress which was not good for my back problems. On the plus side = The material they use is good and definitely non toxic and the queen did not leak - at least not yet.I bought a better less expensive and non toxic (vinyl) airbed at amazon at this link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MZ5Y62/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I bought it before the Aerobeds and I just bought another one. So I am out $200 for the AeroBeds.

First impression; More to come; Update
Hello, This will be my first review of this product upon receiving it today. I will update my review after I've actually slept on it.These are my first impressions, out of the box so to say:1) As someone who is sensitive to odors, I was very relieved that the mattress did not smell as strong as vinyl (shower curtain smell), the material most air mattresses are made of; it does have a slight smell about it, but certainly tolerable, and I am sure I won't notice it once I cover the mattress with my sheets.2) For the price (approx. $130!!!), I was somewhat surprised by the quality of the mattress. I understand that the mattress is supposed to be lighter than conventional air mattresses, but it looks thin and flimsy and not well put together with cheap, plastic materials. Since I intend to sleep on the mattress regularly, I am afraid it might not hold up. I know nightly sleeping is not the intended use for the mattress by the manufacturer, but I have done so with other air mattresses from other manufacturers, so I know it can be done. In those cases, the air mattresses lasted about a year. As someone who is relatively lightweight (125 pounds) and who will not be putting the air mattress through the regular wear and tear of inflating, deflating, rolling up and carrying, this should be doable.3) I am disappointed that the manufacturer has stated that the length of this mattress is 74 inches. In reality, it is only 70 inches long! So, it is actually smaller than a twin.Okay, that is it for now. Like I mentioned about the general impression is good, but I still need to sleep on the mattress. My rating is therefore neutral (3 stars). I will update when I know more.May 2014 Update: I sleep well on the mattress. It only needs to be re-filled approximately every 2 weeks, which makes it fairly low maintenance. I have gotten used to the shorter size; I sleep with my head far to the top, so my feet are no longer dangling off the bottom, but then again, I'm only 5.5"... I have it covered in a sheet, however, when I removed the sheet, I noticed that some little, brown, fuzzy, dust-like particles from the mattress fabric had worn off into it. Not sure what to make of it, so for now it stays just an observation. It's probably due to the friction as a result of my weight.

Bad pump, good bed
Bed is comfortable and has a tolerable odor. The pump is annoying and needs too much coddling - it has to be charged for 24 hours before the first use, it has to be run down completely before charging again, and then charged for a full 12 hours before using again. It has outdated rechargeable technology - the battery has a memory and will be ruined if you don't follow the finicky directions.I much preferred the pump I had with a prior aerobed that ran on DC power. That said, you could use a pump from another aerobed or buy a replacement pump. The bed itself is fine, and very compact and lightweight when deflated. I liked the previous performalite TPU bed better, but the new flocked top is nice for keeping sheets and things in place. It might be harder to clean though.

Avoid this product
Terrible design. Valve flap is too big and gets stuck filling is very difficult. After 1 night deflated, no fun walking up on floor. Will be returning item. Do not waste your money
