iPhone got just as hot with my normal case. Doesn't provide any sort of breathability. The metal piece of the ring is attached with cheap glue which caused it to come off. I put some heavy duty glue on it and it was fine for a few weeks, but the next time I removed it from my car mount the whole ring came off. The part I glued on stayed connected though. Wish I could return this but the return window has closed.
