Second time's the charm!
I own an Epson Home Cinema 8700ub that has about 2000 hours on it. I replaced the original bulb at approximately 1200 hrs with a bulb that I purchased here on Amazon about 18 months ago for $35. The new bulb I put in at that time, replacing the original Epson bulb, did make a brightness improvement, but unfortuately, I did not measure the actual light output of the bulb at that time.So now after about 800 hrs on that first replacement bulb, I could see a noticable fall off in brightness, measuring it I found that I was at 747 lumens in "Dynamic" color mode, 668 in "Living room" color mode and 277 in "THX" color mode (which I never use because it is too dim) What is notable is that these measurments are roughly half the brightness of the original epson bulb when it was new.I purchased this bulb and got poor results from the first bulb that I was sent. But the seller noted my review and insisted on sending me another bulb and I can report that the second bulb is working great!I measured the light output from this bulb and found that it was putting out 1300 lumens in Dynamic mode, 1200 lumens in Living room mode and 652 lumens in THX mode. These readings are about 10-20% lower than my projector put out when brand new with the orginal Epson bulb. But almost double the brightness of the bulb I was replacing. So the new bulb made a significant improvement in my picture quality. The first bulb I was sent produced results that were most disappointing. After a 2 hour burn in, It measured, 661 lumens in Dynamic mode 577 in Living room and 241 in THX. These measuments translate to 10% less brightness than the bulb with 800 hours that it was purchased to replace. All these measurement were taken in normal power mode, but I also checked the brightness in Eco mode and they were consistently 20% lower. In the end, your results may vary, the first bulb that I was sent produced most disappointing results, but the replacement bulb that I was sent was very very good for such a low price.

As good as the original at only a fraction of the price!
We use our projector & 100" screen as our family room television along with a 7.1 surround sound system. If anyone is home, the system is usually on. Yup, we're spoiled. That practice unfortunately leads to premature lamp death. This is the 4th bulb I have installed in my Epson HD projector. The original bulb lasted about a year or so until it exploded. I replaced it with an OEM bulb for which I paid an outrageous price. When that one also died violently in less than a year I decided to try a less expensive brand. I also bought a 2nd lamp from another less expensive brand as a backup & to compare. The 1st bulb was installed & I immediately noticed how dim the colors were & that the picture quality was not quite as good as the OEM. But after making some adjustments I was able to get a picture that I was satisfied with, although never as good as the original. This cheap bulb lasted for over two years & never exploded. At one point I reset the hours just to make the "change lamp" reminder go away. Finally it flickered out & I installed the 3rd (backup) bulb. This bulb, despite its criper image, produced an even dimmer picture no matter how much I adjusted the settings. We had to close the curtains & block out all light to make out the images. So I came back to Amazon, saw the reviews for Mogobe & decided that for the price it was worth a shot. Besides, I needed a backup. When the Mogobe lamp came in I set it on the side & forgot about it. After watching several movies with my family & being disappointed about not being able to see any of the dark scenes I decided to install the Mogobe lamp. Boy what a difference! This lamp is impressive. The first thing I noticed is how bright it was. In fact it was too bright so I reset the system to factory defaults & there it sits today with a perfect image. Crisp, deep & bright. Even with the curtains open & the lights on there's more clarity & color than the previous bulb in total darkness. I fully recommend this bulb. Don't know how long it'll last but the picture quality is every bit as good as the OEM & you can not beat the price. In fact I'm tossing out that other lamp & ordering another Mogobe for a backup today. Cheers!

Great Value if it lasts longer than a year
*** Update 3/26/2018 ***Bulb is still working beautifully- uplifting this review to 4 stars*** Updated Review ***Picture Quality 5/5 (as good as the OEM bulb)Customer Service 5/5 Very proactive and responsiveLongevity 2/5 Unknown/Incomplete, 2nd bulb shipped to replace an early failureValue 4/5 Inexpensive relative to OEM, durability is an unknownMy first bulb failed out on Day 2 (hour 4) while watching the NBA Finals. It made a loud POP and the picture went out. I immediately returned it to Amazon for a fast refund. However, customer service reached out to me and acknowledged they had a recent supplier issue. They send me a replacement bulb at no charge. The replacement bulb has been used for about a week with no issues. Picture brightness and clarity is comparable to the Original bulb. This bulb had markings similar to the original- 160W - 200W was imprinted on the bulb housing. My projector model is the Epson 8350.Overall, this bulb appears to be a good overall value. My man-cave in now back in full effect as the projector has been restored to original quality. When the buyer purchases something that is discounted far below the Original product, the consumer must be willing to accept some risk. I will revisit this review in 6 months. If performance is still good, I will upgrade to 4 Stars. Hoping to get 2 years out of this.

Sceptics may miss on good value
I was sceptical before receiving and using this lamp. Of course, use Epson product and know this will provide 4000 plus hours of solid use. Go less than third the price and expect nothing. Poor brightness and longevity. In this case you will be surprised. I bought 2 just in case but luckily for me, the 2nd lamp is waiting for the 1st to die. And so far, although slow to warm up, the brightness is 90% OK and that means good light even in a day lit room, and number hours of use has exceeded expectation. So, great value.
