The Comeback: LeBron, the Cavs & Cleveland: How LeBron James Came Home and Brought Cleveland a Championship

Cavs track to being NBA Champions
Interestingly this was not just a book on how the Cavs were the first team ever that came back from being down 3-1 in the NBA finals - but a detailed history that goes all the way back to when LeBron left to go to Miami and moves forward to being NBA Champions. You get to learn about quite a few behind the scenes things that Terry Pluto had seen along with various conversations he had during the rebuilding years. Pluto is an excellent writer and this was an easy read.

Best Cavs championship book by far...
Although it's the same old facts, the author makes this book their own through thoughtful editorializing and interesting backstories. I appreciate the book skipping to the meatier portions and not outlining every game, series, headline, etc.

Rehash of columns but nothing new
Terry Pluto is an exceptional sports columnist. However, if you follow him in The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer or on cleveland.com, then you have already read this book. It is basically a rehash of his colums with a little filler, but not anything new if you have read is columns.

Good Read
This book provides added context to other readings that highlight LeBron James' departure from Cleveland to Miami, and his subsequent return to Ohio. It details some of the internal Cavs' struggles with the coaching staff and the changes needed for the team's ascension and historic return from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals.

Spine-tingling to remember... but a missed opportunity
The author can write. He was there for all the key moments in Cleveland's unforgettable 2016 NBA title campaign. And he obviously has great contacts around the Cavaliers organisation. But overall this feels rushed - like a bunch of columns hastily pasted together to capitalise on a warm afterglow rather than a carefully crafted narrative of one of the most compelling comebacks in recent sporting history. This is most frustrating when the same facts are constantly repeated within pages or even paragraphs of each other. This is my main gripe; the other, the constant use of short sentences, is something I accept is pretty much standard among sportswriters these days. Doesn't mean I like it though.
