Celine Dion: All the Way... A Decade of Song & Video

This review is for.... "Celine Dion - All the Way... A Decade of Song & Video" DVD.I have been a fan of Celine Dion for many years. Her voice is powerful yet sweet. She has such a wide vocal range. In one word, her singing is "FLAWLESS". I can not imagine why anyone would not enjoy her performances.This Video DVD collection has all of her hits to date (3-2-20). It also contains a few that were not hits, but should have been.There are 18 main videos and they are all originals and clean. They do not mention any remastering, but the overall video quality looks as if they had been cleaned up very well. They are clean with great color, and contrast. No grain or video noise. There is also a bonus video. Video #7 "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" is the single version. But the song is also added as a bonus video as the long version.Next to the flawless voice of Ms. Dion, the entire soundtrack is a thing of perfection. The audio is offered in PCM 2.0 Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. The Dolby 5.1 track is so sweet, it is an audiophiles dream. I was impressed with the audio quality of every track. As much as I love Celine and all of these videos, two songs come to mind as extra impressive for me. Song number 10 "My Heart Will Go On". The love theme from the hit movie "Titanic". And the second is song number 16 "Then You Look At Me" The love theme from the hit movie " Bicentennial Man". Both songs are absolutely breathtaking in 5.1 surround. The music is so clean and brilliant it jumps out of the speakers at you. And all 18 videos take big advantage of the 5.1 surround channels. It is like sitting in the center of the orchestra. All 5 channels are very discrete and noticeable. Instrument and effects are place expertly throughout the listening field.There is another song that deserves special attention. Song number 15 "All The Way" Celine did a CBS TV special promoting her "All The Way" CD and this DVD. A couple of the performances are on this DVD. But the one that stands out is when Celine sings the Song "All The Way" as a duet with the legend Frank Sinatra. Frank is singing the song on a giant screen up behind the stage where Celine is singing. It is a very heartwarming performance.The song titles are .....1. Program Opening2. The Power of Love3. All the way by Celine DionFebruary 2009 brought an angels' voice down to the American Airlines Arena in Miami and we took Nadya Ariano to enjoy Celine Dion, one of her favorite artists for her 17th birthday.Celine Dion told us it had been a long time since she visited Miami, but we had seen her when she came to Sunrise, Florida for we will not miss the opportunity to see this powerful star perform.The opening act was awesome, for Celine Dion introduced to the Miami audience a friend she made back in Vegas by the name of Gordy Brown, [...] who imitates artists of all walks of life and we were captured by the amazing ability of this young man to sound like the likes of Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and Tom Jones. The audience applauded and laughing so much that when it came time for him to leave the stage, we had to remind ourselves that the best was yet to come.And there she was, Celine Dion in rare form, for she is now very athletic in her performance and you can see the influence the years performing in Vegas has had on one of our favorite singers.Plus, Gloria and Emilio Estefan were there to support her and it was great to see them and her mother was introduced to the audience, as she was traveling at the tender age of 82... to help Celine Dion during her tour! God bless her!!! Celine briefly explained to the audience how she was born to a poor family, the youngest of 14th children. Her parents are Adhemar Dion and Therese Tanguay, both French Canadian. She praised her mother for sacrificing much to see her 14 children mature and how she now lives close to her mother, feeding the ducks in early morning walks she takes with her mom.So, when we bought All the Way, a Decade of Songs we simply wanted to complete the collection we own of Dion's recordings. During her concert, there is a background where we see Sinatra and Celine sings right along the star. Well, if you like Celine Dion as much as we do, do not miss this enchanting CD.

Sometimes snappy, sometimes you'll want to dance, other times soulful, I fell in love with this music DVD after watching it just once. So many of today's music videos are trashy and slutty and foul mouthed, but every song, every performance, on this DVD is tasteful and classy like the artist herself. Yes, your children can watch it and you won't have to explain uncomfortable topics. The music just stirs your heart. After you watch all the songs, or even just a few, I'll wager you'll want to find your spouse or significant other and tell them that you love them... or go on a date... or enjoy a special private moment. If you've seen some unsettling news or had a bad day, play this DVD and life will get better. Love it!
