Best Procedures for Dark clothes
If you're on this page, chances are you are trying to preserve your newly purchased darks. Here are some recommendations on how to preserve the dark color!Step 1) Turn clothes inside out. Having the garment surface rub against other clothes or the machine will wear out the color fasterStep 2) Only use a cold cycle. This Woolite Darks detergent is designed to work in cold waterStep 3) If top loading, have the machine agitate the detergent to mix up the suds for 30-60 seconds before putting your clothes in. This will ensure all the detergent is mixed in with the water and that your darks get properly washed.Step 4a) Hang dry. Exposing the darks to heat will cause them to fade faster / even more so if your clothes are not turned inside out.Step 4b) If you must use the dryer, use the lowest delicate setting.

Does What It Says
I'm pretty simple when it comes to laundry and I don't like to bother myself with thinking about what types of detergent I should use or when or when not to use fabric softener. After being out of college and on my own, I realized that continual washing of my jeans meant they started to fade. And fade quickly. Then a friend recommended using Woolite with my newer jeans to lock in the colors and prevent them fading. Not only does it work well with jeans but it works with all other dark clothes as well.Even if you're not worried about color bleeding, momma said it best when she said to separate your dark clothes from your light clothes. Once you've got that step out of the way, wash your dark clothes with Woolite. They'll look new a lot longer.

Best detergent I've ever tried
My husband wears a lot of black clothes, especially shorts. Most important we live in Florida, the sun here is awful, mostly in summer, it burns all dark clothes instantly, I mean during 2 weeks of wearing all black clothes get fogy grey, or worse- they look like dirty. We decided to experiment on a new pair of black shorts, so far they have survived 6 washings and haven't changed a bit.Good combination of quality and price. I'm glad it didn't disappoint me.

The only detergent I use for dark clothes!
Use: Great item to have on hand at all times. Adds years to any dark clothes (tees, sweats, sweatshirts & sweaters, khakis, dress clothes). They don't fade as fast, don't shrink or thin either. For even longer wear of all your darks and finer clothes, be sure to wash on the delicate cycle. This is a must for anyone who has expensive clothes that you want to last.Price: Best price I have found on the web and in-store($13 most other places). And you can get it on Sub & Save. Its a no brainer. You wont be disappointed and the money you save in not having to replace dingy washed-out darks, makes this product pay for itself 10-fold.

Be careful when you open the box
I love this product and it is the first time I have ordered it from Amazon.Problem is.....it is not wrapped properly and the tape they use to keep the lid on and the liquid from leaking...didn't work. I had to rinse the bottle off for several minutes and the box was soaked from the leakage. I took pix to prove this but there is nowhere to put them here. Just be careful. It is still a great buy and always works wonders with the darks.

Cashmere and towels???
I haven't had a cashmere sweater dry-cleaned for years. Because I wear mostly dark colors - I espcially like Woolite Dark for my sweaters and other delicates. Absolutely recommend it. I think it has helped my more "fragile" clothes to last longer. I have used it ever since I first saw it on the shelves -- about 3-4 years ago.I just wanted to add that yesterday when I was doing laundry I ran out of my regular soap and, since I only had towels to wash and my towels are a dark chocolate brown - I used Woolite Darks. I was shocked at how much fluffier the towels turned out. Incredible difference. My husband used one of the Woolite washed towels and didn't notice that it had any less absorbancy (which I thought it might)-- So, it's Woolite Darks for me for my towels from now on! I highly recommend this product if you have dark delicates - and now,if you have dark towels too -- can't wait to use it on the sheets! (Sounds like I need to get a life doesn't it....) :)

Really does help keep my black jeans black. A word of warning though...
Contrary to what another reviewer said, this product will put color in the fabric. Mildly, yes but it's there. You just need to be aware that if you use this routinely to wash your black clothes in, then forget to separate them and wash them with lighter colors, some color will transfer to the lighter fabric if it rubs against it. Learned this the hard way when I went to the beach and thought I'd just throw in one pair of black yoga pants with my husband's golf shirts. He now has a yellow shirt with blue spots on it. I also have a pair of work out pants that had white stripes down the side. The pants stayed nice and black after repeated washings but the white stripe is kind of grey. But all in all, if you use it right it is great.
