D'Addario Helicore Viola Single E String, Long Scale, Medium Tension

I’ve been using this style and brand for years and always loved them. Their quick break in time, and warm sound as well as stable when tuned, it’s great they’re perfect.

Perfect strings for electric/ attached pickup viola. These strings provide a ton of “information” to the pickup, allowing for a great response from electronics(amp, pedal, preamp).

Good value, good quality. They sound good if you hit the right note !

Great sound for the price. Just be aware it takes a while for these strings to settle, but once they settle they actually stay in tune fairly well

This E string is just what I needed. My daughter is four and beginning a Suzuki violin program. I needed a violin in order to play with her as she learns. Being a viola player, I already had a viola and didn't want to have to pay for a violin rental every month. I didn't even know if an E string for a viola existed. A quick Amazon search, and I found this. I went ahead and ordered it. I was a little worried, as my viola is a 15 1/8" size, that this would be too big. So far, it's just fine! I bought the high tension since I knew I would be having it at a high tension to fit my viola. The sound is good! It's quite rich on my viola and sounds even better than I would have imagined.

Sounds really good. A bit on the brighter side of what I like. It made a relatively budget viola sound semi-professional. Some of that was just new strings, but the sound quality jumped up about ten notches.

I am very disappointed with this A string... It came damaged, I didnt notice until my teacher was helping me put it on my viola and we noticed a massive hemorrhage in the string. My teacher said I would not be able to use it, it would cut my finger if I played or break very quickly.

I put this string in place of the g-string in my violin and tuned it too one higher up from c. It sounds very beautiful and in tune with the other strings which I also changed with the other helicores I bought on Amazon.Thanks Amazon!
