Rustins Composite Decking Cleaner - Effective Mold and Mildew Remover | Deep Cleaning Solution for Decks, Patios, and Outdoor Spaces 4 litre

Used on composite decking, approx 20sq meters. Was not very heavily soiled but did have some green algae and lichen. I'm not certain how this would perform if you didn't put a bit of labour into it but in order to get the results I did its probably worth a bit of effort. I power washed the surface the day before treatment. The day I chose to do it, amazingly the sun shone and the application dried out quickly - I not certain how this affected the efficiency. The area I had used up almost all the product. I used a sprayer and applied reasonably heavily. I allowed the 10 minutes as per the instructions but by that stage a lot of the surface was dry. I then scrubbed with a deck scrubber trying my best to spread onto the dry areas. As per the instructions I left it a further 30 minutes and power washed again. I also used a rotary spray attachment on the power washer and this definitely agitated the the product. I rinsed again with the washer and swept off with the deck brush. Some of the lichen did not remove but possibly due to the fast dry off but overall I was very happy with the results. I would buy this product again.

The product is good, after trying other products to remove the moss stains from the composite decking that didn’t I thought I’d take a punt on this. I was sceptical but it does work. It does require scrubbing and repeated jet washing and I will have to do it again but it is slowly coming off.I have noticed that where I have scrubbed the decking has faded slightly? Whether that’s because the decking is now coming up super clean compared to the rest of the boards I’m not sure but it is lighter, but that is preferable to the moss stains.

Worked really well on my composite decking, but not so well on my paving slabs. But have some cleaner left so will give the slabs another go. I would buy the cleaner again.

Absolutely brilliant! My Husband cleaned the Decking with the Jet wash firstly but that didn't remove the dirt from the grain on the Composite decking so we purchased this and it was effortless the second time he used the Jetwash the Grime just lifted off before your Eyes after 20 minutes of leaving it soaked in this Cleaner, My Husband said he wouldn't really of needed the jet wash after using this Solution he said the Hose would of lifted it off with this Solution applied, have bought another Tub to store for when we need it next!

This product did not work at all for me , If you want to remove dust or minor dirt , scrub with a hard brush using detergent and hot water will do the same thing, this product did not work as expected regardless what the seller has said to me in their e mails.

Use a decking scrubber when using the cleaner. Stubborn stains still take some getting off.

The instructions say to use undiluted and, after 10 mins, brush with stiff brush then wash off after half an hour. Applying with watering can, you'll struggle to get indicated maximum coverage, but seems a bit gloopy for easy spraying. Used a pressure washer, and it did make mildew removal a bit easier, but unlikely to work well with just a hose. Personally I found diluting 50/50, applying with watering can and leaving half an hour, then using pressure washer gave best result. Questionable whether slightly easier removal justifies cost but would probably work better on smaller area where you could give it a good soaking and use multiple applications.

My composite decking was still covered in green algae even after Jet washing “Rubish Jet Wash with very poor pressure” so I wasn’t expecting much from this. I sprayed the contents on with a spray mop and left for 30 mins and by that time it had dried in. No scrubbing was needed as it came straight off with the next go on the Jet Washer and it’s left the decking with a lovely fresh dark sheen just as it was when I laid it. No dull patches and not a drop of algae………Perfect.
