They do the job
They are comfortable, they do the job and a good lite weight for the hot days.I live in a heavily tick infested area, those socks did the trick during an entire afternoon of yard work. The only seemingly drawback is they need to be washed seperately from other clothing. My answer to that was to wash them with old rags, now those rags are anti-tick washing rags.

Tick Country Must-Have
If you are in tick country from spring green-up till fall, you need the kind of protection that in my experience is best provided by Permethrin. I will always wear Insect Shield clothing. I like the different socks they have and appreciate their effectiveness. However, I have seen ticks on older clothing and suspect the claim how long it will last is not realistic. At some point I will spray the clothes with fresh Permethrin to maintain effectiveness. I still give these five stars because...I hate ticks!

Ticks Hate Them. I’m Obsessed.
The media could not be loaded. Holy cow, these socks are next-level. I live out between farmland and woods, so ticks are basically part of the local welcoming committee. I’ve tried sprays, different clothing, you name it—nothing really gave me peace of mind… until these. Paired with tight-fitting clothes, these socks are the real deal.I tested them on two ticks. One took one look and bailed (see video). The second made it to the sock, had what looked like a full-blown seizure, and fell off. Incredible. Bonus: they’re also super comfortable, which I did not expect. After one wash, they’re still holding up well. Safe to say I’ll be buying more—lots more.

Item runs big
I ordered these socks to wear with my gardening shoes to try to keep the chiggers off, because spraying bug spray on your feet, shoes, and legs doesn't do a lot of good when it just gets rinsed right back off while you're watering plants. Also, I'm allergic to wool, and a lot of similar products from other companies contain wool. The socks seem to be good quality, but they run big. I wear a women's size 6.5 shoe, and, according to the size chart, the medium adult size was supposed to fit me. As you can see in the photo I included, the heel in the sock doesn't match up with my real heel. Not even close. Unfortunately, the company doesn't seem to offer an adult small. I could probably wear a size medium in the youth size, but that size seems to be out of stock in that style. I can still use these, because, let's face it, who cares how they look when I'm out working in the yard getting dirty? However, if I liked them, I was going to order a couple more pairs, and I won't do that now, since they don't really fit. I guess I'll have to wait until they get around to restocking the size medium in the youth style. Oh, well. Also, although they are described as lightweight, I would describe them as more of a medium weight. I was hoping for something a bit lighter weight, since it gets really hot in Texas in the summer, but that's OK. The thickness is not a deal-breaker, and the thicker ones might be better at repelling bugs. I haven't had a chance to try them out, to see if they really work, but permethrin is a tried and true insect repellent, so I'm not too worried about that. The takeaway here is that if you have a small feet like me, you're not going to be able to get a product that actually fits until they restock the youth sizes. If you have an average or large foot, you probably will be able to find a size that fits you. These are reasonably-priced for the quality, and pricing is very good in comparison with similar products from other companies.

Very comfortable and they stay up.
These socks are great! They're nice and high, and stay up for maximum coverage. I'd like to know if it's possible to buy similar socks that don't have permethrin, for everyday use.
