So overall it does clap shut for my paracord bracelets. My only concern is that the whistles are hit or miss. Some are strong, others are "airy".They are small and out of the way when typing on a keyboard, but low quality on the whistle.

Great Whistle Buckles - Better Than the Non-Contoured Kind!
These worked perfectly for my paracord project! I also ordered a set of straight whistle buckles from another store and these were far better. They felt sturdy. I kept one to test the whistle, which worked. Keep in mind that you have to blow a little harder to get sound (otherwise it will just sound like air passing through the whistle). Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would order again!

bad whistles. don't buy!
The whistles did not work. The back cap fell off on most of them making it impossible to whistle with it. for the ones that didn't break you had to blow really hard. The buckle itself was fine. I would not buy this again.
