I purchased these for use during grilling and smoking...only tried them on and used them during one cook so far. First, they do seem to be a better fit than a different brand I had purchased before on amazon. More normal length in each finger & thumb, and although still sort of tight, a bit more room to slide into the glove. Also, best I can tell, they work at the suggested temps...I was able to grip and hold the grill grates and also even the ceramic diffuser/heat deflector for a few seconds. Assuming they hold up well, and there's no reason to believe they won't, I will continue to use them. Also, I tend to believe the notes/comments made by the manufacturer/seller about the safe temp ranges...that many other companies selling these types of gloves greatly exaggerate the temp ranges. The previous gloves I tried claimed to work up to something crazy like 932 degrees, or such...well, I have tested them in "real life" and found that they allowed heat through to my skin faster than this brand. My hunch is that there is indeed a top limit on temps that makes sense and most of the gloves of this same material are able to handle up to that point okay...then you just need the product to be quality made and a good fit.

I bought these gloves after struggling with a cast iron skillet in the oven. I received them very quickly, which was very nice. I repeated the test. Cast iron skillet in the oven for 5 minutes on 400. I immediately felt a tolerable heat that grew to drop this pan right now within a minute. I also noticed the glove developed white spots where it got burned. My expectation was basically a tad below welding gloves. What I got was a fancy oven mit. I have big man hands and they were a tad small and tight. Overall not impressed.

These gloves are great, I really liked that they are very durable but at the same time you are able to move your hands very freely! I have bought some heat resistant gloves in the past and this one for sure is the best I've tried yet. I finally tried them out yesterday when I grilled some tri-tip and I was pretty pleased with the results. My mom saw me cooking last night and she tried them on and she liked them and is ordering a pair for her house soon!

If you cook, bake, or grill I would urge you to get these heat resistant gloves! I'm 5'1 with small hands and my boyfriend is 6'0, obviously with much larger hands and easily used by both of us. No more food slipping out of our hands on the way from the grill into the house:) great quality, comfortable and my new kitchen essential.

Well after my dog ate my other gloves, (I think he found them tasty). These new gloves are much better for me grip wise given they have a greater area for that purpose. Heat is relative to what you're handling. I've carried a steel roasting pan into the house with a 8lb pork butt without issue. Could I hold it forever? Lets not be ridiculous, no I couldn't.These gloves are well made, comfortable, and work well for me and I have large hands. Won't let the dogs get near these!

These gloves are awesome. I used them last night when I cooked a roast. It was so nice to be able to pull the roast out and check the temp without having to first remove my bulky oven mitts. These gloves allowed me to handle the roast and thermometer with ease. I can see how these can be used for many other things like BBQ so a second set is a must cuz I don't want to share my cooking pair...lol

I ordered these for my husband to use with the grill and the smoker. He normally wears an XL glove and they fit him fine. He says he doesn't feel any heat coming through the gloves from either the grill or the smoker. They also helped when he used a heat gun although he could feel a little heat through them with that. Overall, he's very happy with them.

These gloves are thick, but I could still feel the heat from a hot pan, even though I held the pan for only about 15 seconds. They don't double as trivets; I placed a hot pot on top of one, and the glove got large light-colored blotches on it, like bleach was spilled on it. They're probably fine if you don't hold the pan for more than 10 seconds and don't place a hot pot on top of them. Maybe I expected too much.
