This cat food delivers exactly on what's written on the bag. The minute you open the bag you're taken aback by the meaty scent which my cats were all about! I thoroughly love that it's made with real meat not meat and great ingredients making it not only a food my cat will eat but one I can feel good feeding them. I know when they're eating this food that they're getting a good balanced meal with good nutrients and great for their overall health. I also love the resealable bag as it's easy to close back up for freshness.

The quality of the cat food that I purchase became of great importance to me after I lost my first cat to a disease that my vet said was triggered by, and worsened by, the cat food I was feeding him (Fancy Feast). So I begin doing research on what cats really need in their diet and the backgrounds and production of various cat foods on the market. Of everything I found, this brand “Orijen” always seemed to make the top five list of healthiest and most nutritious cat foods made with the highest quality ingredients as well as the best sourcing and production practices.Admittedly, there was another brand that was above ‘Orijen’ in these categories that I wanted to give my cats...but cats are picky, and they did not care for that brand too much...so I went to my second choice, which was ‘Orijen’.Ever since trying Orijen’s ‘Cat & Kitten’, we have never found another “go-to” food for the cats.They truly love this stuff. And as you can see in the video, I once got a bag home and (even though they had eaten that morning) they were more than happy to tear the bag open before I could even get to it. (usually I keep the cat food stored away in a cupboard).If you’re looking for a fragrant, dry food to attract your cats’ attention, this is definitely a go-to. Even with my human nose, as soon as I open the bag I can smell a powerful scent of cat food; it’s not an unpleasant smell, but it is certainly strong enough that a cat will know that the food is there.As my cats’ responsible human, I am happy with this food because it is responsibly sourced with cat’s health and humane practices in mind. More specifically, it is made of 85% animal ingredients including free-run chicken/turkey, wild-caught herring/flounder/sardines, and cage-free eggs; and 2/3 of their animal ingredients are “fresh or raw”. I am also encouraged by the fact that the first 16 ingredients listed on the bag are all whole animal sources; no fillers, supplements, fruits, veggies, or mysterious compounds.Additionally, taurine, which you must be wary of in cat food since it can be found in high quantities (particularly in low quality, high protein) cat food and cause health disorders in your pet, is found as a respectably small percentage of this food.I only wish that Orijen made wet cat food, since making sure cats get enough water is a very important thing. I did try to put some water on their dry food, but they didn’t like that.My answer to that was to buy a motion sensitive water dispenser, and buy them canned cat food on occasion from another respectable brand.With regard to price, yes it is rather expensive for a cat food. And getting used to it did take some time. However, after being told that I lost my first cat because of the low quality of the cat food I was feeding him (and I had no idea!), the peace of mind I get now from knowing that I am feeding my cats a properly nutritious food is priceless.Overall I am very happy with the brand and this flavor, and as you can see in the video and the picture of the damage done to the bag before I could open it and the cats are also very happy with it.(There’s a picture of the cat food in a bowl next to a lightbulb for reference on the size of the kibble).

Product has a nice, strong zipper built in on the bag, which helps keep the food fresh.The kibble is about 2mm in size. Making it really easy for my cat to eat.Bonus: My cat loved the smell of the food as soon as I opened it. She immediately ran to her bowl.Overall, great quality food at a great price. I have been pleased with all the Orijen products we have tried so far.

This is a food that I feel good feeding to my girls. They get high quality wet food as well as this kibble and they are healthy happy girls. Pretty much since I brought them home it has been my mission to provide them with as good of a life as possible. I truly believe that spending more on food now will save me costly vet visits in the future. I also rotate their proteins to avoid boredom, allergies and developing picky eaters. So far all is well but they just turned 2 and have been eating Orijen since they were about 3 months old.

I had been feeding my Midnight kitty Iams dry cat food but she really wasn't excited about it & reading the ingredients showed me why. After doing research, this brand came highly recommended & I totally see why: once you open the bag, you immediately smell that this is a better dry food; you really get this is a superior meat based product. Further she really loves it. Her other kibble would sit all day untouched sometimes, but she eats this even when she has wet food available (& she loves the wet food). I feel good that she's eating the healthiest available diet to her & she looks great as a result. The bag is easy open & resealable which is nice & it's a breeze to scoop out her daily meal. It's expensive but you're getting what you pay for & she's definitely worth it & I would recommend this wholeheartedly.
