I came to this book because I’m already a Skillet fan. I love John, his beautiful wife Korey, Jen Ledger, and Seth Morrison. They make up the best rock band of the Christian world since Mylon Lefevre and Brokenheart, not to mention DC Talk. And in fact, they’re the best rock band I’ve ever heard, period.In this short but great book, John talks about the relativism, post-modernism, and Marxism permeating our society and how we need to get back to the Truth of Jesus Christ. He doesn’t mince words in this book, but he also keeps it relatable with stories from his own life and of his own human failings. He doesn’t water down the truth but doesn’t get too preachy, either. I feel like I can hear him talking as I read it because it truly does sound like him, a regular person just like many in the Church and not in it.John self-published it because—as he told Eric Mataxas in an interview not long ago—he couldn’t find a traditional publisher who was willing to publish it without major changes to the core message. He wasn’t interested in compromising on the important stuff, and that’s one of the reasons I love this man (and the rest of Skillet)—he’s much more interested in loving and standing up for Jesus than he is in being rich and famous. The whole band feels that way. None of them compromise Jesus, and as a Jesus freak myself, that’s exactly what I want in the people I love and admire.Thank you, John, for this great book, and thank you, John, Korey, Jen, and Seth for the amazing music!

John Cooper knows why Christians are in difficult times in today’s society - and he knows the answer to remaining strong in your faith. Well worth the read!

I've listened to Skillet's music for years, but, stopped a couple years ago because I wasn't liking the style.Recently, though, I've been hearing and reading some things written about John Cooper. His theology is totally in line with what I believe- Calvinist. I prefer to say Reformed. So, I was intrigued when I saw he wrote a book!I have a few thousand books, and, most are categorized. I would put this book with "Theology." I have so much respect to John and his convictions about what he believes and, that he's not afraid to share his beliefs. This book is theologically sound, which is rare when it comes to the Christian music industry. It is truly a breath of fresh air! If you love Skillet and are interested in getting to know John Cooper better, check this book out!

Appreciate the boldness with which this brother in Christ has chosen to use his platform for the glory of his Savior. This book is not a long read, but it is an outstanding exhortation and encouragement for followers of Christ to stand firm on the Solid Rock in the midst of cultural waves that are washing away many who once professed faith in Him. If you listen to Cooper Stuff, you'll also enjoy that as you read this, you will have no difficulty hearing John's voice in your head as you read his words in print- he writes very much as he speaks.

This was an excellent read! Very theologically correct! I listen to John Cooper’s “Cooper Stuff” podcast, so I knew I had to have his book! I also bought one for my best friend! It’s not a long book, but it’s jam-packed with biblical truth! Would make an excellent gift for anyone, especially teens & Skillet fans! I’m a 67 year old Skilllet fan…lol!!!

*Audiobook review*John Cooper,the founder of the rock group skillet wrote and narrated this book. Inside he discusses truth and how a society that views truth a subjective is doomed to fail.He uses scripture and logic to show how the bible is the only true authority and how following the truth of God's word will bring ultimate freedom.I feel like this is a necessary apologetics tool, especially for young people today struggling to reconcile their faith with the standards that worldly culture is telling them to conform to.

I loved this book. It wasn't filled with superfluous words and explanations. He uses his straightforward and Biblical truth to make his points.

The message given in this book is exactly what we need to hear in todays world. Absolute truth. Very well done!
