Having a second home in Holland, it was enjoyable to be able to review the history of the city, especially since it is like a sister city to Chicago. The founders would be proud of it today!

My grandparents and subsequent generations have had a summer home in Holland for close to 100 years and I have a whole series of books with Holland history. This one is only so-so. As with others in the series, it has a lot of very local items which will be of more interest to full-time residents. That said, I still learned a couple of things I had never known before and found a few photos that I really appreciate, so on that count, it was worth the purchase.
