Beautiful but stinky!
This is a beautiful storage bench. It holds a lot of stuff and you can actually sit on it. It's sturdy! It was packaged well and shipped fast. But here's my issue and normally "new smells" don't bother me, they go away but this is horrible! I've never in my life smelled a new product like this before. It honestly smells like rotten fish. Very strong odor!!! It would make your stomach roll lol. If the smell don't go away, I won't be able to use it, and I will return it. IF THE SMELL GOES AWAY, I will edit this and gladly give it 5 stars!

Perfect size for our entryway!
This thing is exactly what I wanted. I was a little wary because I've had experiences where foldable storage furniture tended to be quite flimsy, but this ottoman is crazy strong! I didn't notice a smell at all, but I guess my nose is not as sensitive? It's also very spacious inside! I've got 6 shoe boxes on one side and about 10 pair of shoes including boots in there with room for a couple more pairs. I definitely plan on buying more!

Smells like your kid pooped or puked in it
The good: it's easy to put together and actually looks pretty good/modern for what it is. Fits a decent amount of medium/smaller toys.The bad: I read some of these reviews about the smell prior to purchasing and wondered how badly something could really smell. Man, this thing stinks. I thought our sink - which is across the room from this thing - was clogged or something and spent an hour trying to fix that. Turns out it was this thing; made my entire living room smell like fish. Honestly - you genuinely wonder if you kid pooed or puked in it. So, I move it to the smell-less basement for a few days. Bring it back up. Smell persists. I spray it down with anti-bacterial spray designed for this purpose and I put it outside on our deck for a few days. The smell is still there. Put it back in the basement for a few days because it was raining. Brought it back up. Seems okay now, but I'm not sure if that's just because I'm used to the smell - or if the smell is actually gone.

Works and it's cute
It's exactly what I was looking for. I did read reviews before purchasing it, and I still ordered it despite the "strong smell" comments. However when I got it, although it still had a faint new product smell, it was so minimal and expected (most things that come in a plastic bag will smell like this) that it's a non issue. 10/10 will probably buy another one soon

Functional but smells terrible
This storage box is the perfect size for keeping school bags out of sight in our entryway. I was somewhat prepared for an unpleasant smell after reading customers reviews, but I didn't expect the smell to be lingering four months later! It's a strange 'barn' type of smell that I can't really describe. It hits you in the face every time you open the lid (fortunately, the smell hasn't transferred to the school bags we keep inside). If you can purchase this item during warmer weather and air it outdoors for the first few days, it might help. Otherwise, it's a good design for a small space.
