When you live in Pennsylvania, Potholes are a part of your everyday routine. They're like a greeting from Penndot, really. But when you have phone holders that rely on a suction cup and adhesion to the window, they do not stand up to the almighty street goblins. But this phone holder right here, is more effective than the thick layer of salt on our roads every winter season. It holds it, its unobtrusive, it stands up to heat, and yes, it stands up to potholes. Please bless yourself, and install these in every vehicle you drive.

After considering several options for a cellphone mount for our 2017 Subaru Impreza we settled on this on the dash holder due to the flat plastic portion of the dashboard right in front of the information pod displaying the temperature and clock (not too critical). Also, even a larger phone like a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra fits in this mount, in this spot without obstructing any view out of the windshield.A cup holder mount was ruled out because the cup holders are rather far back in the center console, and looking at the cellphone screen definitely involves looking down and away while driving. This mount puts the phone in the field of view and a quick glance at the screen still allows peripheral vision awareness of traffic around you.Haven't had any problems with the cellphone and mount moving at all while driving, even on rough uneven road surfaces at all speeds.The only things I can think of that would make this mount better is if it had a bit of overhang on the top as a sunshade, and that the sticky bottom material covered in the entire bottom surface, instead of only an oval ring that is a small percentage of the overall bottom surface area.

So far I’m very satisfied with this product and can recommend it. We’ll see how it survives the hot Texas weather in the summer. I will update my comments in a few weeks.PROS:1. Easy to install, stuck easily on the smooth plastic dash area above the radio in my 2014 KIA Sorrento.2. My phone is large and fairly heavy, (Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra) it also has a hefty ring case on it and it fits just fine.3. The clamshell design help shade my phone on the dash.4. This device remained steady through all kinds of heavy traffic and bumpy roads.CONS:1. It does not rotate for portrait view which unfortunately many apps use.2. It would be better if it had an auto open button release feature, trying to use it one-handed to insert or remove my phone is a little cumbersome.

I've tried so many car mounts for cell phones and found this (for the second time) to be the best. Even better than the WeatherTech which not only takes up a cup holder, but wobbles, shakes and gyrates the iPhone. Any one of these so-called holders that have a "stem" are going to react differently to the bumps and actions of the car. This product, in a sense, becomes part of the car by being installed directly on the dash. No "stem" so no wobble, no shaking, but a steady holder making a steady phone. It's also adjustable so it not only holds the iPhone, but if needed, can hold my Garmin GPS, and my RV back-up camera. This is the second vehicle I've purchased this Clamshell product for. In my opinion, it's the best. When I sold my first car with the Clamshell installed, I used a hair dryer and it allowed the adhesive to come right off.

I couldn't find a phone holder that worked with my phone inside the phone wallet, and I didn't want to take it out of the rim that holds it. I tried other holders and they didn't work at all. This one only works on a flat surface, and the only flat surface on my dash is the one right in front of a display (phone, radio, settings), so that's not ideal because this clamshell holder is large. Read the dimensions! It covers up most of the display when my phone is in it, but it's not a big problem...all the driver displays are right in front of the driver and not affected, plus I only want my phone in the holder when I need to use it for directions. The clamshell closed is a low profile and doesn't cover up anything. It is nice looking and unobtrusive.

Holds my phone securely, but the adhesive for the mount is pretty weak and started coming undone after a day. I dusted and cleaned the dashboard before mounting just like other products, but for whatever reason it just didn't hold, so now I have to be pretty gentle when I lift up the top cover as that's enough pressure to start pulling the mount off the dashboard.

I've been using this in my car for the past few months, no issues. Really easy to install, the spring is just tight enough to hold my phone. Folds/closes when not in use. I have a dash cam so I did not want another suction-cupped thing in the area, it feels less cluttered. The colour matching to the dash is pretty close and it blends in well. My Pixel 6 did not fit my other dash mounts but this one is quite accommodating.

I had one of these before and it worked fine. I removed it to place in another car and the adhesive maintained its hold. I bought another one in November and by last month it was not holding. I followed instructions and rinsed it with water, but to no avail. It is useless. I once would have recommended this product in its previous edition, but this one is not worth the money.
