Handle stays cool on induction cooktop, whistle is perfect!
Not cheap but you get what you pay for. This kettle is beautiful and solid. My last kettle was very pretty, way cheaper, and I loved it…until I realized I was drinking rust. It was totally rusted out inside. If you get a kettle that isn’t solid stainless steel this is prone to happen apparently 😬 As tar as the whistle goes…it is perfect! It starts a comfort medium level and when it really gets going it gets hoarse and hissy. This to me is Far better than the eardrum splitting level of my last kettle! Best of all, you can lock the whistle in the open position and not wake the rest of the house if you are up early and want tea…of course you want tea if you are up early! 😊 Some have claimed the handle gets hot. All I can say is if you are using it on an induction cooktop as I am it stays completely cool, even if you let it boil a long time. It also heats up really quickly and keeps the heat well after turning off should you need a second cup.

Love my new kettle
Important to know that handle gets really hot.Overall it’s a good quality, beautiful kettle that I personally like. No rust or residue issues. Quick tip, at the end of the day I will rinse the kettle and spray the inside with vinegar, then rinse again with warm water. Wipe with kitchen towel. So far no issues, no spots, no rust.

Perfect!
This is an absolutely beautiful tea kettle. It's also solid and extremely well made. I particularly like that they designed the cover so that it won't fall out as you pour. It has a nice snug fit. So many tea kettles have covers that fall out easily, increasing the risk of scalding with hot steam. I expect this tea kettle will last me a lifetime and might even pass on to my kids. Works perfectly on our new induction cooktop too.

Nice Kettle But Handle Gets Too Hot To Handle Withour Protection
Excellent kettle, but a bit on the expensive side. It is well made from high-quality stainless-steel material and heats water very quickly. The kettle itself looks great and comes with a nice polished finished. The whistle is loud enough to hear, and it is not too irritating of sound. As for the handle not getting hot like we have read in other reviews, it sure not the case with ours – the handle gets hot, and we must use a silicon pad to prevent getting burned (4 stars because of this). Still, we are satisfied with the performance of this item as of the date of this review.

THE BEST AT A GREAT PRICE
After owning a couple of different units and countless hours of reading reviews, we've had this kettle for a couple of months of intense use and a big natural gas flame and it's perfect. 100% bright stainless. No sign of corrosion anywhere inside or out. No weird noises while heatiing. Pours perfectly without leaking. Easy lid to remove while hot even without tilting the handle - which it can do. Whistle is easy to flip on and off even when hot - if you flip it fast. The handle is all stainless as well and whereas it does heat up, it's not the nuclear heat of a thousand suns that other reviews mention. Just a thin hot pad or sweat shirt sleeve pulled down will suffice. But even the supposedly insulated handles need a pad if the kettle is at its hottest on a big gas burner.Ergonomically it functions well, the hand position being natural as you pour. And the stiffening rings around the sides of the unit help to guage the amount of water you've filled. If you've been driven almost crazy by reviews, to the point of considering a $2-300 kettle, look no further. this one does it all perfectly AND it looks great. It's required no maintenance to keep it clean.PS. After our last kettle dyed, we tried the switch to electric. This was really a silly experiment, requiring even more research almost fruitlessly. Result was in discovering that almost all electric kettles have inner parts of plastic. Most have many other problems. The only great kettle we found was the legendary Stagg EKG at $160. This was great, but delivered a few ozs of water less than my pour-over with the Clever unit required. Hard as it was to tear ourselves from the copious amouts of functional and aesthetic features, it had to go. That brings us to the Gipfel - by no means a jip!

Which features are important to you?
This bright and shiny tea kettle is a real eye catcher. Love the finish and design. As others have noted the handle does heat up, If I were still making pitchers of ice tea I would find that very annoying. I searched several times scouring the many options. and features and this is the one I kept returning to. I’ve had numerous kettles over the years and have now concluded there is no perfect tea kettle! This one has the best whistle of them all!

Great kettle!
This is a super-functional kettle and a really great surprise buy!Given the high prices of its competitors, this is a very good deal for a quality kettle. It boils VERY quickly compared to what I'm used to dealing with, it's quite light despite the fact that it's a little bulky to hold, and it doesn't seem to accrue a build-up of minerals from our hard tap water. The handle does not get hot and it's relatively easy to use, so I'm comfortable with my kids handling it.The only downside is also one of the selling features -- the whistle. It gets very loud very quickly, which helpful for forgetful humans but a bit hysteria-inducing for dogs, LOL.
