The Lunar Chronicles Boxed Set: Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Fairest, Winter Hardcover – October 4, 2016

This is one of the books that I saw on display at my local library and completely judged the book by it's cover. I didn't know what it was about, but it looked interesting and I put it on my mental TBR list. Many years later, I finally got a chance to read it (and the rest of the series.) This book was completely worth the wait. As a fan of fairytale retellings, like Beastly by Alex Flinn, I had high hopes for this book. It gave the reader wonderful little homages to the classic fairytale, while weaving the story through a world and characters all its own.The world building in this novel, while not expansive was wonderfully done. As a reader, I could imagine Cinder meandering down the dingy, packed streets of New Beijing while Kai fretted over his father in the ornate, sprawling palace. There were a number of important characters and none of them were overlooked. You were able to learn about their personalities, histories, or relationships in a way that gave each depth.Such a great series and it only gets better as you continue to read. Recommended for anyone who liked YA, romance, fairytales, sci-fi, or good books.

When I first saw this series, I couldn't decide if it would be a good read. I read most of the reviews and took a chance and I am glad that I did! This is one of the better dystopian series that I read and shows a lot of imagination. Fairest was the story that affected me the most as the prelude to the series and I liked that it was the 5th book. It helped me understand the character base which was very intense. In my mind, the moral base is that children are to be cherished and protected. When they are not, there is damages that sometimes cannot be repaired. There is a lit to think about after reading this series and I highly recommend it.

I was very hesitant to read this book after reading the back... but am very glad I did. I had many people recommend them so I gave them a try!! I can honestly say this is one of my favorite series!!! Each book brings a new addition to the one before and the story progresses wonderfully!! You want to read the next book right after you finish one!! The author portrays each character perfectly!!

The books were in great condition and of course are an amazing read. The box was ripped underneath but I didn't take a star off because the quality of the book was still perfect and the series is one of my favorite. Other reviewers had problems with the Box being ripped like I did so I I don't know what's going on with that but they do need to take care of it because an otherwise really great book is getting not-so-great reviews because of the packaging.

I had heard good things from other reviewers and decided to give it a try. Overall, I enjoyed it. The fourth book had some continuity errors that really drove me crazy. It was almost like they were so desperate to publish it that they didn't even bother to proofread it. Other than that, I recommend it to all fantasy fans.

This box set has amazing books in it. A very good read for any age. I recommend if you love sci-fi with a mixed of fantasy in it (final fantasy, in a way). It makes a perfect gift if you love The Lunar Chronicles series. And also it has a nice artwork of the box. However, there are 2 more books to go with the series after Fairest; Heartless and Stars Above (a follow up of the series).

These books are the top of my list. Tons of action and adventure and mind boggling twists. Full of romance but isn’t cheesy or awkward for even a dude to read. If you love sci-if, adventure, and romance then read this series. Appropriate for any age and gender. Definitely recommend.

Excellent condition for being used. Just a few wrinkles on the case, but the books are perfect. I'm currently reading "Winter", and hope to be done in plenty of time to give the set as a Christmas gift to my daughter. She doesn't live with me, so I have to read them now. ;-)
