I like all the extra straps as I can attach things ...
Update in 2023: I've used this bag for a ton of things since buying it. It's my go-to weekend travel, hiking and motorcycling bag. Over all the use, I've had two of the side straps (where I tend to attach a water bottle) fail due to the stitching coming out, this happened after about two years so I switched to using the other side of the bag as my water bottle side and those ones are still going strong. The clip for the waist strap got half stepped on once and broke so I just tossed on a different clip and it's worked fine. The biggest things, and why I'm back looking at this bag, is that the fabric between the 2nd smaller pocket and the outside pockets has come apart. I've been using it as is for the past year because all the pockets are still secure and useable, however, you can't chinch on the upper sides now as it just pulls that part of the bag further apart. It's still functional enough as a general backpack with nice pocket compartments, but I miss being able to secure the bag all little more together. I'd sew it but the fabric has ripped right along a seam so it's not possible to patch/reattach. Still got a lot of great use out of it and am still happy I bought it. Original Review in 2017: I've used this bag canoe camping, hiking & as my carry-on for a trip to Ecuador. It's held up well. I like all the extra straps as I can attach things to the outside when I want or just tighten them to the size I need when I don't. The zippers & fabric all are holding up well thus far. My only complaint is in the second largest pocket, there is a little set of 2-3 smaller slip-in pockets that I'm sure would be lovely to use, but that section was sewn in upside-down, so the best use I've come up with for them is stashing emergency cash I don't need to get to too often. Other than that, the bag is great. I'd definitely buy it again.

Amazing Backpack, Great Value
I've owned 2 of these backpacks for 7 years now and I can tell you they are great. I keep 1 with me as my everyday carry. There's plenty of space, they're tough and can handle lots of weight. I'm writing this review because im ordering a 3rd for my spouse.

Perfect EDC bag, even good for a two-person bug-out bag
For the price, this "tactical" backpack can't be beat. The general construction quality of this backpack rivals those of double the price. The compartments are all well designed, with the largest compartment being deep enough to hold a useful assortment of items. The shoulder straps curve inwards, and as such, seem well-positioned against a person's abdomen. The hydration pouch on the back is super nifty, and constructed very well. It's integrated so well on the back of the backpack that I didn't even notice it even after I packed the whole backpack full, until my son pointed it out. The only con that I've encountered with this backpack is that it looks a little silly when completely stuffed, because each successive layer of the bag is shorter than the previous. This gives a weird appearance when carrying a completely crammed backpack. The larger version of this backpack ( Military Tactical Backpack Large Army 3 Day Assault Pack Waterproof Molle Bug Out Bag Backpacks Rucksacks for Outdoor Hiking Camping Trekking Hunting Black ) is a little better in that regard. Compared with the larger version, which is almost the exact same price, here are the advantages that this smaller backpack possesses: * The hydration pouch is designed much better, with a dedicated zipper. The back of the hydration pouch is the back of the backpack, and is a firm, cushioned backing. * The largest compartment has an access hole on the top, from which you can run a hydration tube, headphones, etc. There is an additional access hole between the largest compartment and the hydration pouch, so that you could run hydration tubes from both the hydration pouch AND the largest compartment. This design was very well planned. * There is a y-strap that covers the top of all three compartment layers, prevent items from falling out, and also providing additional structural support when the bag is over-stuffed. The larger version doesn't have this strap. * The largest compartment is deep enough to lay some items flat, such as ponchos, emergency blankets/tents, MREs, etc. I was surprised at how much I could stuff in there. The larger version of this backpack possesses the following advantages, compared to this smaller version: * The larger version, while only a few inches larger in each dimension, is capable of being over-stuffed to a ridiculous degree. I could fit so much more in the larger version than in the small version. * The larger version spreads out better when completely packed, and looks a little less silly since each compartment layer is approximately the same height. All-in-all, I've found the smaller version backpack perfect for an EDC bag, while the larger version is perfect for a bug-out bag.

Absolutely perfect
First off, I didn't want to pay for a fishing back pack so I found this. I've had it loaded up with everything I would need or use and there's still room. I did add the 2 small pouches on the back. Even without them this thing is absolutely perfect at a fraction of the cost of a certified " fishing backpack" I actually have more gear in there than what my pics show. And .... there's room for more. This is very sturdy and durable. Unbelievable places to put things.

good bag! wrong color!
I bought this for a carry pack on a daily basis, just to have all of my stuff with me at all times (gun, ammo, extra clothes, some misc. tools, head lamp, flash light, lighters, tablet, chargers etc.) and also on family day trips into the city or a day hike etc. I usually end up carrying all of the family's items while we are walking around. wanted something super functional and versatile and looked cool too. okay so the bag arrived today and I really like the look of it and it has plenty of space and pockets and the molle system is vast and appears to be of adequate quality for the price. I have already filled it to the brim to see how much it will expand and it has a nice expansion and compression option for different days and needs. the zippers are big and seem to be heavy duty (again this is day one I will re-post in a month) I haven't put a hydration system in it yet so I am not sure how that will work out but there is a velcro flp on the top to pull through a hose so it should workout fine. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating on day 1 instead of a 5 is because I purchased a tan.desert tan bag and this is more of an army green. it is still a nice looking bag but I would prefer the desert tan to the green. in a month I will repost on how it is actually working and how it is to carry around. the 30 day rating is yet to come. but I would recommend purchasing this bag if your looking for a quality tactical bag w/ molle system that won't break the bank...they have other colors, my son is getting the desert camo...should be here in a couple of days.

Take it on a hike!
This is my daily carry backpack.? Two large main pickets and will fit a laptop. The back has a large zippered pocket on the back, plus another smaller pocket on the front. There is also a pouch that can hold a phone, sunglasses, and whatever small things. This is considered a tactical backpack with lots of hook and loop fasteners for small compatible gear. It has been packed with enough clothes for a 3 day weekend journey. I’ve been caught in rain, and it doesn’t allow the rain in! It’s durable and versatile. Weight is not an issuel!
