Great book

Possehl was one of the leading researchers on Indus valley civilization and indus script. This is a very rich book full of archaeological facts indispensable to Indus valley researchers.

There is so much to learn from the past.It can be as simple as adorning an ornament to as mammoth a task as to building a town. Possehl's timely observations and compilation of objectives made by his counterparts from different time periods provides a fine illustration. Right from the cover image begins my research. It's an absolute statement of civilization.

The size of the book is extra large and unable to fit anywhere.. Not highly impressed by this book , total disappointment. The images of the seals were put in the book as if they were drawn from the hand rather than original pictures. Not recommended..

Excellent, well thought-out documentation of this important ancient culture. I'm not a professional in this field, but it seems to be the source of more recent thinking on the topic.

It’s a great glimpse into the IDC while not feeling too strongly in any one area for horribly long. The book did try to remain partial with its info but it still was very much the gathered opinions of the author, which is to be understood with these kinds of things. It got my feet wet but any research for the vastly unknown IRC will require you to gather a handful of books to come to your own conclusions. Would’ve like some on sight photos though the blue prints and such of buildings and towns were interesting and informative. I appreciated the range of topics collected; as a first it has done its job. Informed and incited me to research further.

fabulous researched book

This book is a must have for anyone interested in Bronze Age River Civilizations such as Egypt or Mesopotamis.

Very detailed information about Mohenjo-daro. Was very helpful for my reference to my course research paper. Provided detailed images.
